A comfortable stay in a beautiful place.
Pros:

The hotel is beautifully sited above a loch. There is a nature reserve close by. We had a comfortable cabin and a great host.

Cons:

Wi fi was intermittent in the cabin (but fine in the hotel lounge)

Pros:

Handy to restaurants, supermarket. Quiet location. North Island ferry terminal 20 min drive. Lerwick a 30 min drive. Lerwick has lots of tourists, while Brea provides opportunities to interact with locals. Friendly helpful staff. Recommend.

Pros:

Room spacious and clean, very comfortable bed.
Front desk staff very helpful and friendly, hot breakfast very good too.

Cons:

Very limited buffet on bank Holiday Monday, no yoghurt, only 1 choice of tinned fruit, no fresh fruit, and very poor quality bread, no pastries.
The second morning the buffet was much better.
Dining room needs some love, some nice plants and local art, background music.

Great stay at the Brae Hotel for the Delting Up Helly Aa festivities!!!
Pros:

Great breakfast, clean and tidy rooms and perfect for our needs.

Cons:

Restaurant was closed one night due to function next door. However we still managed to have our meal at reception area.

Pros:

The hotel's location was very convenient for exploring Shetland. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. As a bonus point, the local Up Helly Aa takes place on the road just past the hotel

Cons:

There are few shops and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel, but it wasn't a big problem for me.
