We loved our stay at Busta and only wished we had another day there. Staff was fantastic.
The front living room for tea, whiskey or just hanging out was spectacular in charm and comfort. Historic place visited by Queen Elizabeth in 1960. Connection to Shetland TV show adds another fun feature. Great location — less than an hour from Lerwick and close to north and west mainland areas.
The staff was outstanding. The food was great, I wish I had the recipe for the Beef in Guinness Gravy. We would have no problem staying here again.
This was a wonderful 'chill-out' short break/honeymoon. The staff were wonderful. With the exception of one meal, which was dealt with immediately by the owners, the food was excellent and plentiful. The rooms are desperately in need of refurbishment but still comfortable and cosy. Thankyou, Busta House, you made our time with you special
This Hotel offered excellent service, the room was perfect and we enjoyed our stay. We ate in the dining room for breakfast and dinner and both meals were of a high standard. We would definitely recommend to others to stay here if they came to the Shetlands and we would stay here again.
Outstanding
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Busta House. The staff were outstanding and the food was excellent and aways hot.
.
We had a lovely big room Yell overlooking the garden. The hotel was peaceful and quiet even though there were some big groups staying. Always plenty of hot water and heating which was needed after being in the cold winds at Shetland. Staff very helpful and polite - they helped us book ferries to Yell and Unst. Breakfast and dinner very plentiful - too much for me at times but you can ask for a half portion. Lovely lounge to relax in on an evening. Highly recommend and we hope to be back at spring time in a couple of years
Beautiful old hotel with lovely rooms. The breakfasts were wonderful! And the staff were engaging!
Great stay.
Food was good and friendly staff too.
Restful place to stay. The “long room” was great for sitting and thinking (and reading).
The hotel didn’t meet our expectations that were formed by their website. Our room looked like it had been recently refurbished and certainly the bathroom had been, however the decoration looked very amateurish- I can paint a door better than the bathroom one. I thought the food offering would be more high end with an emphasis on Shetland seafood but it was fairly standard, nothing particularly stood out. For example one choice was lasagna and it was made with Aberdeen Angus beef and Orkney cheese to give it that locally produced feel. Dundee marmalade is world famous but their choice of Tiptree from Essex and portions of Lakeland butter shows they are not walking the talk. Another area for improvement would be to vacuum more thoroughly, especially the stairs leading to the bedrooms. We still enjoyed our stay and the staff are very welcoming.
Lovely hotel.
Friendly staff, lovely views and good food
A beatiful location with much character and history. Hearing the sound of the sea from my bedroom was very special. Excellent customer service too, I would recommend a visit.
We spent two nights here and loved it. The friendliness of the staff combined with the professionalism of the chef made it a start to remember. Dog owners: although dogs are not welcome in the general areas, the hotel grounds are great and lead straight to the shingle beach. Plenty for the muppet to sniff and lots of rabbits to chase.
Great hotel. The staff, in particular- Andrew, Bradley and Stephanie- were excellent. Both our Breakfasts and the evening meal we had were good quality.
The Whisky selection was amazing. They are refurbishing parts of the hotel, but it did not have an impact on our stay. Our room’ Muckle Roe’ could accommodate four people. What would have enhanced our stay would have been if the second bed could have been moved to one side and two comfy chairs placed by the window to really appreciate the view from the room.
Amazing experience to stay. Restored old features to give an authentic historical experience
Lovely historic hotel and we loved how welcoming they were to our dog as well
Fantastic wee hotel, way better than I’d usually get for a business trip. Excellent service-really felt like I was at home. Bang on.
