Honestly this place looks like a brothel as you arrive. I got into my room and wasn’t aware it was a shared bathroom. So I left immediately. I would not suggest anyone stay here.

Pros:

Baz was very welcoming when i arrived.
He took time out to chat and get to know his guests.The room was very clean comfortable and the ved was fantastic i got a decent sleep for a change.The food was really nice and plenty and filling and reasonably priced.

Absolutely great family run guest house
Cannot fault this. Baz giving lots of chat and humour along with being professional.
We had couple massages that were great.
Great good great comfy beds.
Will stay again

We were initially given a rubbish, small room. We had booked a deluxe. We came back from a night out to find we were unable to enter as we had NOT been given the code. We were shouted at from a front first floor room by someone whose grasp of English was a list of expletives. Receptionist said it was a person put there by the local council without a risk assessment. He clearly had mental health issues.
Even given this type of ‘guest’, there was no night staff. This was a clear security issue. He said it was a guest house not a hotel so no security was legally required.
It was a terrible experience especially when it became clear an attempt to get into my car resulted in me driving 259 miles with the drivers side window open.

service was good, polite staff and helpful. My only gripe was the room its self.

must of been a corner attic room, needing to get to the corner or into my side of the bed id have to bend over or climb over partner.

shared toilet which we wasnt aware of when booking through hotels.com

the worst for me was the broken/sunk in mattress / bed.

1 night was enough, was happy to be home back in my own bed.

Comfort literally 1 star, would give nothing if possible.

to use my hotel points on this stay i would say isnt worth £66 a night.

Pros:

Clean bedding & towels. Room old fashioned but it was clean. I had a private bathroom but there’s a shared bathroom right outside the door & you could hear people back & for all night & early morning. The shower was awful! Very slow.
I had to go and ask for milk as none in room with tea & coffee facilities. Only 1 socket in the room & an extension with another extension was needed for the lamps. Average place to stay, definitely not luxury as in advertisement.

The location is great and parking is a bonus. My room was at the back of the guesthouse as requested so all good. The shower is small and the water pressure poor but all in all a great place to stay.

I asked for a quiet room at the back of the guesthouse and that’s what I got so I was pleased. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk into town. Very comfortable beds.

Satisfactory stay
Pros:

Under new management so a different name on the outside. Bedroom was nice. Ensuite was in need of refurbishment. Good dinner in the Thai restaurant and a decent breakfast.

Worst hotel stay ever
Pros:

Chose to stay again for the amazing Thai food. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed due to technical issues which I had not been made aware of. I’d paid extra for breakfast, which was non existent. The electric shower in room 5 didn’t heat up but I did have the warmth of a long black hair on my rather grubby looking sink.
