TAMU Hotel & Suites Kuala Lumpur

The hospitality was amazing and the staff were very friendly for me. The bed was really comfortable for me and there was a table beside the bed that was really nice. The scenery from the room was really excellent and I could see the city from the excellent room.
Malaysian dishes are delicious, hearty and I enjoyed eating the delicious rice and chicken curry. We also had special Malaysian cakes and biscuits that were delicious to bring to our car for sightseeing.

2. Upon arrival, Father was denied check in - the only room was taken
3.Only 1 (ONE) room for disabled guest in the WHOLE Hotel
4.DON'T bother come here if you have disabled guest. They just don't care

Our room1717 are falling apart. Not fit for guest. Not well maintained.

28/01/2025 We reached about 20-15 mins early before check in time and able to do a early check in everything went smoothly.. they place us at level 33 and the view facing titiwangsa we were expected to get KLCC view but is ok. the suites is well maintained but that’s a some parts need to check for maintenance ( i will listed out at the end of my review. We book a suites 2 bedroom with living room and each of room they got prepared a prayer mat for muslim ( muslim friendly)
This place has located 3 restaurant which is level 40th storey they has a western cuisine, level 14th they have snacks area at the pool area and level 1 they have tamu junction place and we did try their Tamu kampong fried rice, grilled chicken and hokkien noodles the presentation, food portion, food taste and restaurant ambience basically is all worth the price and among these 3 basically the tamu fried rice that impressed all of us. the flavour and wok hey taste is there. Night time we went to kg baru bazaar / street food at jln raja muda musa ( can say most of malay cuisine food ), jln raja alang ( indonesia food ) basically the hotel is so strategic interms of food so guys those who stay over dont worry about the food that a lot of varieties surrounded hotel. On the next day morning after breakfast we went to the pools the pools at level 14 the pools showed is 180 degrees view u may see heart of Kuala Lumpur (KLCC, KL TOWER and PNB 118 TOWER) and fyi those who driving Tamu hotel are giving free complimentary carpark unlimited in and out just told them your room number and dont forget to register or inform them during check in . Overall this hotel is convenient closed to food street, muslim and family friendly.

List need to be improved for maintenance.

- Both toilet sink is headless
- The living room aircond that a water stains leakage
- The master bedroom toilet couldn’t lock.

5 star hotel in Kuala Lumpur city centre but located within " Kampung Baru " area. Stayed a night to celebrate my wife birthday. The junior suite was ok , spacious but lack maintenance. Though 5 star , its more like a family hotel , slightly noisy with kids and lobby looks " ordinary "
The lounge for dinner was ok , food was ok.

Nice place great people

Our room had a fantastic view across to the Twin Towers. We were on the 25th floor and the windows were single glazed and easily opened. The room was large and adequately furnished. The shower cubicle and toilet were adequate. Basic toiletries were provided and towels were changed daily.
Tamu is a modern hotel. All the staff were cheerful and friendly. Many of the staff have little or no English and miming/charades got us a long way.
Our booking was for bed and breakfast. We were unaware that it was Ramadan and that breakfast was unavailable after 7a.m. We were offered breakfast in our room and it arrived the next morning at 9.30a.m. Sadly it was inedible. The management agreed and were extremely apologetic and we were offered dinner for the rest of our stay. This was an excellent Ramadan buffet with a choice of over 100 dishes prepared by chefs keen for our approval .
The swimming pool was out of use for most of our stay. Changing facilities for women are non existent - a single shower cubicle but no lockers/benches /coat hooks. The men's changing room was closed the entire time . The view from the pool across the city is fantastic .
The mosque is over the road and the imam's call to prayer throughout the day and night was very loud and long.
The 'hop on/hop off' bus stops outside the hotel .

Tamu is situated in Kampung Baru - a food heaven. We enjoyed eating mouth watering delicacies surrounding the area eg nasi lemak WakJo, Ice cream gula apung, Thai seafood at reasonable price. I will say the food price in Kampung Baru is comparably cheaper than other places in centre of KL. We recommend hotel buffet dinner by the pool. The food selection was special with lots of variety as it was during new year eve. Our table was facing KLCC. Children below 5 years could eat for free. Breakfast was ok - we loved the warm croissant!!

Tamu offers beautiful KL view ie KLCC, KL tower and PNB tower. The room price is reasonable as it is situated in KL city centre.

The staffs were friendly and helpful.

The down side is : We find it difficult to park the car at peak hours ie we had to park at 10th floor!! But if u r not driving, its easy to use GRAB for transportation.

Overall, if you love exploring street foods and looking for a hotel with beautiful view at reasonable price, this hotel is for you.

Stayed in the 1 bedroom resident suite. One of those hotels where the photos look better than the hotel. I actually don't mind too much about old hotel rooms (cladding coming off, tap comes apart in your hand etc) but it's the little things that were missing that made it feel overpriced, esp compared with other thoughtfully presented places in KL. Basically you pay for the lovely large amount of space. Little frustrating things=The bedroom had no lamps by the bed, only glaring overhead lights with a switch on the wall. No coffee machine, just a kettle, no ice in the freezer, no pen by the phone, had to ask for the air con controller to be brought to the room so I could turn off the a/c. No cutlery or bowls in the kitchen, only cooking utensils, plates, a frypan and saucepan., nothing to wash up with.
What was very nice= lots of space in the suite, doors open on to small balcony large enough to sit out on, the pool is amazing, lots of space to do long swims, the breakfast is very good, not sure why other reviewers complained-it has a huge range of food and a fairly good coffee machine. Reception very helpful and thoughtful, good location and hotel really takes advantage of the great views.

Came KL for school holiday and managed to get a fantastic 2 Bedrooms Fully Kitchenette Suite at Tamu Hotel & Suites Kuala Lumpur after a long time never travel neither domestically nor internationally.
Arrived at the Check In Counter at 12.45pm and supposed to check in only 3pm. A warm hearted server managed to give me Suite Room at 37 floors No. 3708 at 1.30pm without collection of RM200 deposit which is refundable.
Amazingly beautiful rooms at the first sight. Everything in the Suite like TV, air-conditioner, induction cooking hob, microwave oven, refrigerator, water boiler... well maintained. The maintenance of the hotel even came and guide us the way to use the hob and microwave when I couldn't on them.
Great about the complementary drinking water. I had finished 4 bottles of the complementary water as I had been vomiting during the journey from JB to KL and need to rehydrate myself. The housekeeping brought another 4 bottles of drinking water immediately once I contacted them.
Tamu Hotel also provided great concierge service which helped me to shift my whole family luggage to the Suite because I couldn't even shifted them out from my car boot.
Thank you Everybody from Tamu Hotel & Suites Kuala Lumpur who make my Free and Easy trip fantastic. I honestly recommend families who want relax and let everything handled by Hotel to experience a true and warm hearted service here.

😅Extremely bad experience in this stupid ans unprofessional hotel.
😑Very dirty carpet, gross dirt stick on it and not just the outside, but inside the room.
🙄The sheet could not fully cover the bed and the bed is quite dirty.
😖In toilet, yellow tace everywhere Very smelly.
😅No intergrity and any credibility. The reception promise me to cancel my next nights booking and I get the refund. When I go back to confirm this. The manager yelling at me saying that his frd(the reception) did not say anything about my refund. It cause very bad impression on Malayaia. Very bad....
Disgusting hotel.

When i vist in this hotel I already paid my living charges before but they asked me to pay tourism tax which is $11 usd amd when i gave them my credit card their credit card machine did not gave the receipt and they said they did not charge it . And they tried 2 times from my credit card and the same process and then i gave them my another credit card still same problem, their credit card did not gave receipts and they said they did not charge it but when i saw my account balance my money was deducted 4 times , means their crime card machine charged $11 from my account 3 times and my another account one time . So total 4 times its showing that they charged $11 from my account which is total $44 but they said they did not charge it anything only my money is floating and i hve to call my bank . The same problem its was on their dinner buffet . I gave them my credit card for 2 persons and bill is $26 usd but when they put my credit card their machine did not gave the receipt and they said they did not charge it but when i saw my balance my money was deducted $26 by thier hotel but they said my money is only floating and they did not gave us food of buffet dinner. But in Malaysia when i went outside from their hotel i did not face any kind of this problem. My card was working and receipts came out outside when i did my shopping. So this hotel credit card machine hve big problems so when ever people so this hotel make sure give them cash . Otherwise u will face same problem .

I went for a 3 days course here. love the ambience. room is all comfy, but bathroom need some improvement ie. the sliding wooden door tend to jammed, hairdryer easily overheat only can be used for few seconds then offed. breakfast, lunch, dinner buffet were all good.

I chose this hotel because of its good review and location, but I will not be coming again.
I booked my Saturday via Agoda and checked the terms of booking including additional fees. I chose this place as there was no deposit as in case as of other apartments/hotels. The reason was that it was my last day in Malaysia and I didn’t want to exchange more cash or pay the deposit by card. However, I could not be more wrong. Upon my arrival I was informed that there is deposit of 100myr when I asked about it I was told that is how it works. The next was the room. I especially booked twin room since I was travelling with my brother but oiled not be more surprised when I opened the the door and realised it was a double room with king bed. I went to the reception to inquiry about it, but had not even received a proper apology. They changed the room but the new one was a connected one, which again I was not told but had steady enough and didn’t feel like complaining more. Unfortunately, the new room was not that clean as we found long dark hair not only in the bathroom but the room as well. It is like they never vacuumed the carpet. Next issue was with friendliness of the staff. I was interested visiting a spa and since this hotel does not provide it but does have enough stars to recommend one I asked at the reception. Not only they did not know but suggested to me to visit some street spas, which is not something I was looking for. When I mentioned that they just laughed. Lastly, is the information provided. We were told there is restaurant only on the 27th floor and snack bar in the first floor. That is not correct as we learnt upon coming to the “restaurant” on the 27th floor were we were told it’s simply a buffet and if we want a proper food we better go to the 40th floor. Have to say that the people in the restaurant were very helpful comparing to the ones at the reception. All said the good things about this hotel are the swimming pool and location, but they still will not make me to stay again. They are better and cheaper or more exclusive places than this one.

Not a 4star hotel standard. I'm very disappointed of the service that me and my family received during our stay. Requested a pillow and a blanket at noon, received at 1am after calling hskp again to send. Breakfast area, very dirty. No one stand by at the buffet counter to monitor the food for replenish. I am experienced in F&B 4 star and 5star hotel as manager and frankly speak, Tamu is the worst breakfast I've ever experienced. Dirty egg station, buffet counter, floor and the worst part even the coffee cup not cleaned up properly. The F&B staff is good but the problem is probably with the manager who do not know how to keep up the standard. We are paying for the room and also the service! 2nd room toilet pipe leaked very bad, obviously there's no inspection before guest checked in. Please improve your service standard. Stayed at 3708 check in 25th checkout 26th.

Main factor for this hotel is near to kampung baru,and scenery is good esp t restaurant during bfast..but t customer service need major improvement..my room was leaking at at night when we arrived,and t carpet near t door was soaked w water..t worker came n fixed it and left without any proper apologies from t desk

I am very disappointed with the management. Me and my family were staying at the hotel’s residence. The problem is the air conditioner. One in the master bedroom and the other bedroom are broken. We called for it to be fixed but the same problem happened again. It was not cold and the air conditioner became cold for only like 10 minutes. This is Malaysia, where the temperature is 30°c or 31°c, people need to use the air conditioner to cool off, especially the ones who are not used to this kind of weather.

Arrived late @ 1am. Greet by staff and quick check in. Booked 1 bedroom suite because of the low price given in online. This was my 5-6th time visited here and always my choice if had business in kl.
