Location and breakfast. Reception area was welcoming.
Our room on the 4th floor was unbearably hot. The shower area is in need of an overhaul. The shower screen not doing what it was supposed too and water everywhere causing the floor to lift around the bath area.
Room big and very nice with two arm chairs and a table. It was very hot as we were on the 4th floor in the roof space. A fan was provided but it was an exceptional 36 degrees outside. The bed was very comfortable. Lots of tea, coffee etc in the room. The lounge and restaurant were air conditioned which was excellent. Free parking. Close to town centre and attractions, all very walkable.
The seagulls! They were very noisy from about 3.30am. We had the windows open because of the heat and they woke us up several times. They were nesting everywhere in the town although I don't think there were many on our hotel. If the weather has not been as hot and the windows closed I don't think they would have woken us. I do like birds and the dawn chorus but the noise was constant and excessive.
Great choice . Cooked fresh . Happily recomend the food.

Breakfast was good.
Room 44 was small and awkwardly shaped. During the hot weather it was unpleasantly hot. We were only able to open the sash windows a short amount at the bottom , presumably for safety reasons but it meant there was little/no ventilation.
Fortunately a guest in neighbouring room had established that it was possible but very difficult to open some of the windows at the top which would be a perfectly safe alternative if the means for opening the top section of the sash was facilitated.
Great location, lovely food
It was VERY hot in the room and was difficult to get cool. (Outside was about 22 degrees)
Very comfortable bed, fan helped as it as very warm.

Breakfast was excellent, great room and plenty of choice. Room was lovely and facilities great. Location was perfect for us and thoroughly enjoyed our break. We are definitely coming back.
There wasn't anything we didn't like
The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly
The rooms need updating and we were disappointed not having a sunday dinner, we were not aware you had to book
The hotel is ideally situated to all amenities, the town lift is just a little bit down the road and the town centre was only round the corner. It was quiet on an evening, the bed was really comfortable, the room was very spacious and the bathroom was a great size. The hotel is well looked after and the lift was in good operation the whole time we were there, which was excellent for me as I hate stairs. The breakfast was really good with a good variation of food and the staff were very diligent. Overall a brilliant stay and will definitely be back.
There was just one downside to the stay, there was no fridge in the room. It would have been nice to keep our drinks cold, especially as it was very hot during our stay.Happy and enjoyable
