Lovely staff, disappointing room.
Pros:

The reception staff were all really kind, friendly and helpful. If I were only rating the staff, I would give the hotel the highest possible rating for everything.

The location of the hotel is also good, very close to New Street Station. The cafe bar opposite (Cherry Red's) is fantastic.

Cons:

If you are a person who really needs only a bed and a shower, then maybe this hotel will suit you fine, because that is literally what you get. There is a large bed and a small bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a sink. There is not a table or chair in the room, so whatever you do needs to be on the bed. There are no cupboards or drawers. There is not even a hook to hang up your towel in the bathroom, so when you shower you have the choice of leaving the towel in the sink or on top of the toilet. Or on the bed, I suppose. How much can a plastic hook on the bathroom wall cost?
