Clean and good location
Noisy from the cars driving past at all hours, no lift and uncomfortable beds.
The proximity to where I needed to reach the following day, nearby restaurants and fairly easy access from the train station were all positives. I was met promptly after ringing the reception bell and was shown how to access the building if I returned and the front door was then locked
The room was quite small and cold on arrival. I had to shut the window and then turn on the heating so that I could warm the room. The TV in the room was defective with lines across the screen making viewing a little awkward.

Although confusion with the room, we got a slightly larger room, no issue was made - so happy.

Shabby looking room, very outdated, mould forming on the net curtains, very disappointing.
The location is perfect for exploring Colchester. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really good.
The pillows were very thin and the mattress was quite hard, so it wasn't the most comfortable sleeping experience. We could also hear our neighbours through the wall, which made the room feel less private.

I was offered a room facing the main street. The window was so old that I could hear people walking outside. I paid an extra one third of my bill to move rooms.

very poorly insulated, whether from the adjacent rooms, the corridor, or from the outside busy road. it feels like being in the corridor directly which is not great for privacy and comfort.
