It is ok for one night, but not for more.
Pros:

The location and the staff.

Cons:

Paper walls and that room was tiny and did not have the window which you could open. It was hot during the night and day and even fan did not help.

Pros:

I am highlighting what needs to be fixed.

Cons:

Room 1 is old old, and the bathroom windows are floor to ceiling with a privacy stick-on screen. The corners of one have been cut off and leave you exposed (see pic). This is on the window where you will see everything. I wonder why they have done this? It sounded like anyone walking outside was in your room. See the ear plugs - do you like the street noise? The room price is not cheap enough for this. My standards are very low, and this did not meet them. I do not normally write bad reviews like this, but the property needs to sort this out now.

Convenient and friendly but decor and showers need attention as do the windows. Quite noisy at time

Cosy, clean, warm, safe and friendly, great for a short stay
Pros:

Great location, clean & safe hotel , great staff , very friendly , warm , professional and accommodating and certainly served its purpose for the reason of my trip to Colchester

Cons:

It’s on a main arterial route through the city in the heart of the main pedestrian and through fare so no or limited parked ( there is a NCP car park opposite ) which is safe and well lit

Nice hot powerful shower.

Cons:

As expected road noise, loud footsteps on the stairs early in the morning, micro television and no blind in the bathroom, peeling obscure window stickers aren't enough.
