Journey East Hampton

This was our second year in a row staying at Journey East Hampton, and somehow our second visit was even more special than the first. Last year, we stayed for only three nights and immediately knew we wanted to return. This year, we extended our stay to nine nights—and honestly, we could have stayed much longer.

From the moment we arrived, it genuinely felt like coming home. The atmosphere at Journey is incredibly warm, relaxed, stylish, and personal. It never feels like an anonymous hotel. Instead, it feels like a beautiful retreat where every detail has been thoughtfully considered and where guests are treated like friends returning home.

What truly makes this place exceptional, however, is the team. Every single member of staff deserves the highest praise. Without exception, everyone we met was warm, attentive, friendly, professional, and genuinely interested in making our stay as enjoyable as possible. Whether at reception, during breakfast, around the property, by the pool, or behind the scenes, each person contributed to the wonderful experience.

The reception team welcomed us every day with such kindness and always made us feel completely comfortable. Every question or request was handled immediately, thoughtfully, and with a smile. The housekeeping team did an outstanding job throughout our nine-night stay. Our room was always perfectly clean, beautifully prepared, and cared for with impressive attention to detail. The easy and light breakfast that is offered as self-service is a great idea.

What impressed us most was that the kindness never felt forced or purely professional. The entire team seems to genuinely care about the hotel and its guests. That spirit can be felt throughout the property and is the reason Journey East Hampton is so much more than just a beautiful hotel.

The rooms are charming, comfortable, and tastefully designed, the grounds are peaceful and perfectly maintained, the pool area is wonderful, and the overall atmosphere is exactly what one hopes to find in the Hamptons: relaxed, elegant, and completely unpretentious.

After nine fantastic nights, leaving was genuinely difficult. Journey East Hampton has become a very special place for us, and we are already looking forward to returning for the third time - hopefully in the near future.

We had a wonderful stay at Journey Easthampton and could not recommend the hotel highly enough. From the helpful members of staff, to the facilities and everything in between. It exceeded our expectations, especially given the price which represents great value for the area. We upgraded to the Cottage and I would certainly recommend this for a family, it gave us plenty of space and also some privacy. The pool area was immaculate and we never struggled to get a sun bed. The towels and drinks are regularly replenished and generally everything was spotless! We will be back. Huge thank you to Cindy and the team for looking after us so well.

Excellent location, relaxed vibes, clean pool area, nice grab and go snacks. The main issue with this property is the value. You are paying 5 star prices for a 3 star motel experience. There was a drainage issue in the shower, ants in the bathroom, no robes, no slippers, no hot breakfast, and all for $1,500+/ night. We stayed in the king cottage so it was a bit more expensive than the standard room but our cottage faced the street so we were kept awake by street noise all night. It would have been fine for $350 or even $400/night, but $1,500 for ants in the bath and a shower that doesn’t drain properly? No. We won’t be returning.

Journey East Hampton is a well kept motel situated half a mile outside East Hampton and right on the main Hamptons highway. It is also immediately next to a very popular convenience store. Thus, its location is pretty poor.

The rooms and additional facilities are simple/minimal, nicely designed and pleasant. The pool is very small and there is no hot tub. There is no fitness room. Very basic cold breakfast is offered in the morning. The staff are very nice people who work hard to be helpful.

All this would be ok if Journey East Hampton positioned itself as the motel that it is. Instead, it charges rates and a 10% ‘resort fee’ appropriate for a 4 star hotel with superior facilities.

I suppose the joke’s on me because I’m the dummy who paid to stay here without sufficient diligence but the rates we paid are really unconscionable. The resort fee is absolutely outrageous.

So, bottom line is you should be forewarned and do your diligence. The East Hampton House just down the way in a superior location is far better alternative.

Our room was on the first level and the noise from the guests in the room above us was extremely loud. Could not only hear every footstep but voices and closing of doors. It was so loud I took videos.

What a wonderful stay at a wonderful property! Clean and updated rooms, great pool, unpretentious, fabulous location with an equally as fabulous staff! A special thank you to Cindy for making our stay so fabulous! We will be back!!

The comfiest beds we have stayed in! This really exceeded our expectations and was very good value given its excellent location between East Hampton and Amagansset.

The pool was an excellent addition which we used every day when coming back from trips out.

We enjoyed another two night stay in an Atlantic suite King and were pleased. Erika, Cindy and the entire staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The pool had plenty of towels and was warm too. The breakfast is just enough to start the day. The provided drinks are wonderful as well.

Stayed here with a family of 7 and could not have picked a better location in East Hampton. Cindy checked us in and was so warm and welcoming…we loved her. All the rooms were well groomed, the atmosphere was calming, and I highly recommend staying here!

O hotel

My mom and I had a great experience at Journey East Hampton. The hotel is centrally located and made it easy to get around to different towns. The 2 queen room with the partition wall gave us our own space. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Cindy, who works in the office was very friendly and made our stay much more enjoyable. The lobby area was intimate and cozy and had a great array of snacks and drinks. The heated pool, sauna and grounds were well maintained. We would definitely return.
