No Swimming Pool ☹️
Pros:

Location is perfect. Room was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The swimming pool was SHUT, due to major repair work. We would not have booked this hotel if we had known. Very disappointing.

Well located historic hotel - in the heart of charming heritage district.
Pros:

The hotel is a great example of period architecture - located within the historic centre - perfectly located for seeing the city. The rooms are generous and the staff friendly.

Cons:

The hotel is well kept but is showing signs of wear - and could use a coat of paint. We were disappointed that the pool was under repair as that is why we picked this hotel over others in the area. The breakfast was good - but there was no choice or variety.

Onsite free parking turned out to be very useful

It’s centrally located to everything. A wonderful coffeeshop named Origen right down the street, clean room

Cons:

It is too centrally located. The hotel sits on a Main Street that cuts straight through the walled city, so cars drive very fast at all hours of the day. Do not get a room facing the street

Campeche was very nice once we’d checked in to the Hotel Plaza Campeche.
Pros:

Location was great.

Cons:

We actually checked out about 30 mins after arrival because the swimming pool was under refurbishment and out of service and no sunbeds either so nowhere to relax outside the room. We specifically chose this hotel as they advertised a pool. The hotel did not disclose this on Booking.com so we asked for a refund. They refused point blank to accept our plight and actually the staff were quite rude.

I phoned Booking.com immediately and first off they sent a complaint email to the previous hotel we stayed in which was very annoying as they were excellent.

Booking.com will only refund 20% unless the hotel authorise them to give a full refund. We’ll, I am still waiting for the hotel to give authorisation to Booking.com to refund us in full. Booking.com promised to get back to me within 24hours but I’ve heard nothing in over a week.

Not good enough!

The hotel manager did not speak English and she couldn’t have cared less about the non disclosure of works to the pool. Taking money under false pretences is frankly fraud and unacceptable behaviour.
We booked another hotel and left as we didn’t want this nasty incident to sully the enjoyment of our short stay in Campeche.

Nettes altes Stadthotel mit kleinen Haken
Pros:

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral! Wenige Schritte bis zum Zentrum und den Sehenswürdigkeiten! Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Wichtig in der Altstadt! Ein super nettes Café liegt ganz in der Nähe nach dem „tollen „ Frühstück.
Wa wir in Kauf genommen haben ist das es laut ist in der Nacht

Cons:

Die Zimmer sind groß, sauber aber halt schon in die Jahre gekommen. Das Frühstück ist dürftig. Kaffee aus dem Spender, Saft und 3 Sorten Rührei. Deswegen das Café in der Nähe. Das Pool war eine Baustelle! Angeblich gab es einen Hinweis vor dem Buchen!

Lacking Facilities, Doesn't Deliver on Promises
Pros:

It's in an excellent location very near to the pedestrian c/59 with all its bars and restaurants. Front-of-house staff are not very interested in guests, and are relatively unfriendly and unhelpful (when folk check in, give them their breakfast vouchers rather than letting them go for breakfast and be turned away - and don't make then ask for vouchers every day). The woman who runs the breakfast room is absolutely lovely - promote her to front of house immediately! It's an alright hotel, but I wouldn't go back. Don't rely on getting answers to any emails you send - we never got any.

Cons:

When we booked, we paid for a room which promised:

- outdoor furniture
- patio
- outdoor dining area
- swimming pool

The first three never materialised. The pool was being rebuilt - that can happen, but tell us beforehand so we can adjust expectations.
