Pros:

The accommodation was basic but clean and we had everything we needed.
The location was great and the pub and bakery were just a very short walk away. We skied at Selwyn so was just 30mins away.

Cons:

There was no one at reception and we just picked up a key off the front desk.
Though the town was very quiet and felt safe, the lack of having someone available/present made me feel slightly uneasy as it was just my young son and I staying.

Good place to stay for a few days at the snow.
Pros:

Good location. The room was clean and warm, and the beds were comfortable.
There were some basic facilities for meal preparation in the common room (microwave, toaster, hot water).
One of the other guests collected firewood and lit a fire in the fireplace one night.

Cons:

The room was tiny - ok for a few nights, but not for a long stay.
We didn’t see the manager at all. It would have been nice if the open fire was lit each evening.

Affordable nice stay in the convenient location close to the Selwyn Snow Resort
Pros:

We needed a short stay (2 days) near the Selwyn Snow Resort and we found this motel as the most affordable and closest in terms of its location. Everything matched my expectations according to the advertisement. The room is 20m2 - very tiny but functional as we needed just beds for sleeping. When we arrived late night, the reception was unattended but the key for the room was left, the A/C unit was turned on so we went into the warm and cosy room when we arrived. Toilet/shower were quite clean. There was hot and cold water supply in the lounge area with tea and coffee bags. We parked in front of the motel reception that was very convenient. In the range of a few hundreed meters we found a few places to eat - bistro and bakery and enjoyed eating in both of them. Overall, it was good value for money in such remote location and close to the snow resort.

UNSANITARY, DIRTY, UNPLEASANT STAFF TO DEAL WITH!
Pros:

NOTHING - The place is dirty, the bed sheets were not changed.
No staff present on site.

Cons:

The place is UNSANITARY! The bed sheets had not been changed and the bed and pillow had hair all over it.
The manager Anne came to the hotel when i called to inform her, she checked the room and tried to brush the dirt and hair off the bed, she said "i thought it was done yesterday although i did not check this myself"
The room is small, the bathroom is dirty and the place is very outdated for the price you pay!
I will not ever stay again and will NOT recommend to anyone.

Read through the reviews and i am not the first review like this!

Save you money and stay at the Snowy Mountains Report as you head into town, better rooms, better staff, clean facilities!

Towel missing from bedroom - no one at reception for initial check in.

Pros:

Good location but the room was extremely small, bathroom was even smaller, It was advertised with slippers but no slippers anywhere. The communal room was warm but the furniture had its use by date. Definitely not a 4 star.

Welcoming manager
Pros:

Anna the manager is extremely helpful and considerate. Very comfortable and clean ....very homely and relaxing environment. Great common lounge and dining area. Very warm and welcoming when so cold outside

Family room a bit tight with adult size family members...but still workable for a short term
