Overpriced and underwhelming

Cons:

I have stayed in many places all over Australia and this hotel was the worst value for money I have experienced. The rooms are small and nothing special for $1000 per night. This is an overvalued hotel and I will be sure to share my thoughts with friends and family.

Beautiful & relaxing! You do not need to leave the Calile!
Pros:

My daughter and I stayed at the Calile for three nights and we loved every moment. Exceptional staff and service from reception to the pool, gym and Hellenika (their Greek restaurant, which was beautiful and delicious). We loved our room - spacious and immaculately maintained during our visit - great mini bar when you want to have a wine or cocktail getting ready and a plethora of restaurants and nightspots to visit. And the shopping available was fantastic. We will be back!

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Very fancy
Pros:

The location was excellent. Close to many bars, restaurants and great shopping.
also in walking distance to the river. The facilities were great.

Cons:

The pillows were a bit high and hard. It would have been nice to have had a selection.

Long weekend in the heart of James St
Pros:

The location in the heart of James Street precinct was fantastic.
The room was spacious and had a little balcony so we could get some fresh air.
The large windows let in a lot of wonderful daylight.

Cons:

The noise from people in the hallway was audible and we could hear a child crying in a neighboring room.
There were no toiletries or treats supplied, e.g., toothbrush, biscuit to have with tea, etc. and we expect a tiny something like that at $800/night.
The staff were a bit disinterested.
We didn’t use the pool because it’s infront of a fine dining restaurant with no privacy and that felt awkward.

Cons:

Hospitality and customer service of all staff members come across was appalling… no chatty manner or recognition of your presence. Very forgetful and wouldn’t follow up on multiple occasions when things were requested
