Pros:

Beautiful architecture and interior finishes. Large rooms, huge bed. Great views. Was pleasantly surprised that local noise wasn't an issue. Excellent gym.

Luxury with the human touch!
Pros:

The hotel we have reviewed before and can not find a single fault! It is perfection - in fact have just booked another 3 night stay end of this month! Can’t wait. What I would like to comment on specifically in this review is the outstanding staff - in particular Brontë on reception. I arrived recovering from a major surgery - she got us in early, arranged for the most divine fruit platter and frankly sped my six month recovery into about 2 months just through four hours of kindness and service! Thank you so much.

There is nothing to dislike.

Cons:

1. They have an app called ‘Friends of Calile’, basically you can enjoy some discounts or benefits for restaurants and shops nearby while your stay. We checked in around 3pm, no one informed us about it, until the next day I found out myself. Logically, if I was the receptionist, I would think that there is a high chance for these customers to have dinner in the area when there are so many options in James St.
2. We were out around 10am the next day, put on the sign for cleaning, and when back in the afternoon around 2-3pm, and our room was not made.
3. The receptionist asked us if we consumed at the cafe in the hotel when we checked out, and we did not - not sure how their system works for recording customers spending, but clearly there is an issue.
4. The team informed me that the $200 AUD holding balance will be disappearing from my credit card in 10 business days. It is still there until today, 12/06, and the pending charge happened on 24/05. Hence I followed up three days in a row via Booking.com’s message function, no one replied.

Excellence on all levels ❤️
Pros:

This property provides luxury with a super cool retro but modern vibe! Amazing attention from the staff - so helpful and really nice friendly crew. The location can’t be beaten with incredible shopping and dining all around. We don’t think we could honestly stay anywhere else in Brisbane as I know we would be disappointed compared to the Calile. We are back on the 12th of May - unfortunately only for one night - but can’t wait!

Cons:

Not being able to use the Calile App because I booked through booking.com. If I had know this were to be the case I would have booked directly with the Calile
Also as our room was directly adjacent to a venue for weddings we did find it quite obtrusive.
