Disappointing stay – falls short of 4-star standards

Cons:

​Where to start? We chose this hotel for its location on a steep hill, hoping for a peaceful environment, but that was not the case.
​While the size of the room was acceptable, the bathroom was in poor condition and covered in limescale. The water in the sink was only lukewarm—it is impossible to get a proper shave without hot water. The shower was just as bad; the water pressure was so weak that it took 20 minutes to rinse off. Moreover, the temperature fluctuated between freezing cold and scalding hot, with no middle ground.
​The balcony door was a total disaster. The frame wasn't properly secured to the wall, so it kept shifting when opened. The lock didn’t work at all. I complained, they “fixed” it, but it lasted for exactly three uses before breaking again. Given we only stayed for three nights, I gave up, but if I had been on the ground floor, this would have been a serious security concern.
​The breakfast was another disappointment. The selection was poor: no cold cuts or cheese, just pre-cooked meals, processed donuts, and "juice" that tasted like syrup and water. Salt and pepper were kept in an unhygienic, shared container that everyone had to dip a spoon into.
​To make matters worse, I had stomach issues after every single breakfast during our three-day stay. I travel often, take preventative probiotics, and have never had such an experience elsewhere. I don’t know what their hygiene standards are, but this was certainly not acceptable.
​I understand that one cannot compare hotels in the Philippines to those in Europe, but if a property markets itself as a 4-star hotel, I would expect a much higher standard of service and maintenance.

Pros:

Room was very spacious, central in town only a short walk but should be noted it's up a large hill.

Cons:

There was a severe sewerage smell the entire stay. The restaurant was shut the entire time and there were only 4/5 loungers at the pool. Compared to other places we have stayed in the Philippines, it was quite expensive for the facilities.

I would definitely stay here again
Pros:

The room was clean and big. Location is perfect as it is not on the middle of the center but it is walking distance. Staff are nice, helpful and friendly

Poor A/C, smell of drainage and wifi was poor. Bed was very hard and hotel is situated at the top of a steep hill. No elevator and very limited seating around the pool

Gentileza dos funcionários
Perto da rua principal e do porto de onde saem os passeios

Cons:

O quarto não estava muito limpo (copos sujos dos hospedes anteriores como se limpo estivessem) e o ar condicionado é antigo e não funciona direito.
Para chegar ao hotel tem que subir ruas íngremes, prepare as pernas se quiser ir a pé.

Quarto amplo. Café da manhã com variedades. Piscina ok. Bebedouro em vários andares.

Cons:

Não tem elevador. Tinham baratas no quarto. O banheiro só tem uma folha de box fazendo com que a água molhe todo banheiro onde nem os tapetes impediam a água...todos os dias pedíamos tapetes a mais pra evitar de sair molhando o quarto inteiro.

The hotel has potential, but there are some details that need improvement
Pros:

We had an overall pleasant stay at this hotel and would rate it 7/10. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The rooms are nicely designed, which we appreciated. The hotel is located on a hill, so it takes about 10 minutes to walk down to the main restaurant area. We didn’t mind the walk, and there’s always the option to take a tuk-tuk, which makes it very convenient. It was also very easy to arrange transfers to and from the port or airport directly through the hotel, which was a big plus.

Cons:

However, there were a few downsides. Cleanliness could definitely be improved. Some rooms had hotel slippers while others did not, which felt inconsistent. We stayed for three nights and only received two bottles of water once during our stay. We’re not sure if water is supposed to be provided daily, as this wasn’t explained to us.

Additionally, one of the rooms occasionally had a bad smell coming from the air conditioning, while the other had an unpleasant sewer smell.

Overall, the hotel has potential, but there are some details that need improvement to make the experience more comfortable.
