Beautiful Guesthouse, nice staff, delicious breakfast, comfy beds, good bathroom
We were here when it was 32 degrees Celsius, so quite extreme temperatures. Our room doesn't have airconditioning and was located directly under the roof, making it very warm. No AC and no fan are normally no issue, but these days were just very hot and it would've been a great thing to have.

Great location within the beautiful City of Durham. Very silent and great view above the city. The city centre, as well as castle and cathedral are within walking distance.

Das Frühstück war gut, das Personal freundlich. Es gab Parkplätze direkt vor Ort.
Die Betten waren durchgelegen und die Sauberkeit des Zimmers ließ ein wenig zu wünschen übrig. Das Duschen in der Badewanne war unbequem und eng und es könnten auch mal wieder neue Handtücher angeschafft werden um die alten ausgefranzten zu ersetzen.
The whole break was amazing staying at the accommodation , from friesraff who were amazing to the breakfast.

It was our fourth stay at Farnley Tower, and as always, we felt very well looked after by Anna and the staff. We keep coming back because we love the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, the city view from the room (nr 11), the location (on a quiet street but still only a short walk from the city centre), the veggie full English breakfast and the Indian restaurant on the ground floor. Farnley Tower is an absolute gem and we will definitely stay there again next time we’re in Durham.
The only downside is that it gets really hot inside when it’s hot outside. The fan in our room didn’t work and we could only open one of the windows, so the first night was a bit tough. But we got a new fan in the morning, as soon as we mentioned it. There was no ventilation in the bathroom (I think there was last summer), but it didn’t really bother us.
