The staff is exceptionally helpful, the beds and room are comfortable and clean, and the inn has a homey feel to it that
Pros:

It feels comfortable and beautifully set in the mountains. It is very clean and the beds are comfortable. Again this stay, the desk staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. There is something homey about this place.

Cons:

There are a lot of cars going by since it is on the main road.

Pros:

Location, large room, friendly staff

Cons:

Very noisy. In addition to road noise there was a party at the adjacent building (part of the lodge complex) with very loud Latin music and a birthday party till past 10:00 pm. Plus barking dogs and motorcycles roaring.

I enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay again.
Pros:

The Diner was excellent. Wish they would get the bigger place fixed up.

Cons:

The road on the back side needs to be repaved or at least the holes filled in. It is very hard on a small car to leave the property.

Extremely violent neighbor guests - be careful
Pros:

Location is great - I love it

Cons:

Loud slamming on walls late at night , very deliberate violent loud repeated slamming on the walls until late at night . I’m not in good health and am not up for any confrontations with someone acting that violently but I had my phone ready to call police a couple nights , I did talk to other guests who were also freaked out by this. I don’t know what is going on with some people who stay here but I’m not going to be coming back to find out.

Pros:

My room was very big and spacious. I appreciate it having to refrigerator and a balcony with view of Redwood trees. It appears that the rooms and bathroom was redone. The outside of the Hotel is a little rundown. But fine for the price. The location is great. But it is right off Highway nine. Which does make it convenient. I did not find it noisy. I recommend this Hotel for the price.

If you are going for an event book way in advance for a better price and do not stay in room 218.
Pros:

We went for an event. The redwoods were nice. The staff was very friendly.

Cons:

Pot holes everywhere especially when trying to leave to go to the overflow parking. The room smelled like mold. Had to air it out. I also had my first asthma attack since January 2026 when i stayed in this room. It was either mild or was not properly cleaned after a guest had a pet stayed there. Those are the only times I get asthma.

Pros:

The room was modern. It’s an historic lodge with a 1950’s diner

Cons:

Has a balcony but over looks a car park and a very busy road so not really useable. Pool appears to be permanently closed
Nowhere to walk to.
Good curb appeal from the car park but very rough around the back with some demolished areas now used as a car park.
