Disaster. Book elsewhere.

We booked this hotel three months in advance (at 188 CHF (or £174) for one night) expecting a room with a view of lake Lugano only to find we'd been allocated a small, stuffy and cramped attic room with a skylight window (from which you had to stand on a chair in order to get a glimpse of the lake). Had we known the room was a converted loft (as the lady at reception claimed), we would have cancelled the booking immediately. The lady at reception kept referencing emails between the hotel and Booking.com to which we, as end clients, were not privy. The pillows were extremely hard and the single mattresses (joined together to form a makeshift double bed) were old and uncomfortable. We resorted to using the ornamental cushions as makeshift pillows. Needless to say, we got very little (to no) sleep during our stay. There was not enough room to store our two cases. The toilet extractor fan was covered in sticky tape (see photo) and did not appear to be working properly. Stickers were used to cover up damage / holes to the bathroom tiles (see photo). The toilet door frame was peeling (see photo). A screw had loosened and had come undone from the vanity mirror (see photo). The shower soap container and towel railings were loose and seemed like they were about to fall out of the wall (see photos). The shower head was also not vertically adjustable. The hair dryer would overheat and stop working 20 seconds after use. Finally, the breakfast was mediocre. We complained but the lady at reception merely told us that the damage to the toilet was to be expected due to it being the end of a very busy (summer) season. In response to the vanity mirror almost falling off its handle, the lady at reception said that (and I'm paraphrasing) 'these things just happen, and could happen in any hotel you choose to stay'; and in response to the broken hair dryer, the lady claimed this was a clever safety feature. We felt as if we had been taken for fools.

Alles in allem enttäuschend.

Das Morgenessen

Cons:

Zimmer musste getauscht werden, da der Strassenverkehr sehr störend war. Auch das alle 1 Min. tropfen der Klimaanlage war unmöglich und kam einer Folter nahe. Beim zweiten Zimmer war der Wasserhahn beim Lavabo sehr verkalkt sowie die Dusche hatte schimmlige Stellen. Dringend mehr auf Reinigung achten und eine Renovation sollte vorgenommen werden.

Tolle Lokation. Direkt am Luganersee. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse ist schön. Das Frühstück ist ok. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und auch sauber. Alles gut.

Cons:

Die Betten sind sehr klein...schmal und kurz. Strassenbeleuchtung dazu mit Weihnachtsbeleuchtung extrem hell. Keine Nachtvorhänge oder Läden die man schliessen konnte. Die Strasse......extremer Verkehr und sehr laut.

Magnifique séjour, dans un hôtel d’excellente qualité en tous points de vue

La facilité d’accès et de parking, hôtel très accueillant, personnel très souriant et professionnel, chambres très accueillantes, propres avec tout le confort promis, vue très belle sur le lac et repas délicieux tout autant le matin que le soir , adaptés également pour moi qui suis cœliaque 👌
