Very quiet
The property is very old
A lovely resort hotel in the small city of Phrae. Spacious rooms, a great restaurant with a delicious buffet every meal, quiet, comfortable beds. We went swimming in the big pool and had it to ourselves one afternoon.
Beautiful building with lovely water features around reception. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Stayed one night, v good location for finding your way round Phrae.
Pretty poor really. The location is not ideal for the town centre, shops and restaurants all of which you need transport for. Ample parking and the property is well designed being on two sides of a triangle, nice communal areas and furniture but the guest rooms are very dated and in real need of refreshing, the bed sheets had holes in and we tried to get them changed only to be told in Thai that all the bed sheets had holes in! Has a nice swimming pool and deck area, breakfast was OK but very ordinary and the one evening meal we had there was equally uninspiring. The hotel was full with people travelling up country for the new year and its fine for a one night stop on the way to Nam or somewhere else but really the whole place is tired and in need of investment and refreshing.
Stayed here for 1 night in Nov 2022 and it was really lucky just for only 1 night. The room is outdated, poor lighting, eerie, dirty & dusty room, toilet wall is mouldy, toilet seat broken, bath towel is yellowish. Never believe in the photos you see, boy what an experience!!!!
Victoria suite was very spacious. Staff were very professional and accommodating
I arrived planning to stay 2 nights , 4 rooms for first night and 3 rooms for the second. After checking in , found out myself pool was closed . Never mentioned prior or after paying. Outside area is full of bird feathers and poo. Room is very dirty and dated. In my opinion, this place is overpriced. Usually it’s 3,400 upwards per Covid according to booking websites. Wouldn’t even pay 500 baht. Got a refund for the second night . Stayed the first , as family already unpacked and were tired from the journey. Rooms are in need of a deep clean, renovation and safety and health concerns removed. Example in photos ( towel hanger falling off wall, wood broken , nails hanging out of sitting chair , dirty seals and taps and doors in toilet. Poor views of the bin area. AC is very dirty and full of dust and remote and tv is severely dirty and full of dust) I told the reception , they sent someone in with a spray and cloth. Still not acceptable. In my own option, i wouldn’t stay here again. I would definitely advise anyone else to inspect the room and facilities before handing over money.
Beautiful hotel, lovely staff. The rooms are looking a little tired and the bed is not the most comfortable but lovely for a short stay. No restaurant at the moment due to the COVID situation, but seems to still be some excellent restaurants and cafés in Phrae to get dinner and breakfast at 👍
It’s well located, has decent amenities and is very solid for its price. But details really suck. Room floors are dangerously slippery, design is really nice, but stupidly unfunctional and I’ve been sitting at breakfast (first one here) and watched four tables finish while I keep asking...and they keep forgetting my order. It is feeling persona now!
Huern na na is a beautiful hotel, tastefully furnished. It has very little garden area, but beautiful planting in strategic places, so the lush tropical feeling is everywhere. The room balcony had no seats, but there were some immediately outside the door on the hall veranda. The location is good, a short ride from the walled town.
Buffet breakfast is provided, and a selection of oriental dishes is available from room service through lunchtime. There do not seem to be any good restaurants in the immediate vicinity, so evening meals were a bit problematic.
We have stayed at the Heun NaNa several times before. We always enjoyed our stay, but this time we really noticed that the room looked tired and in need of renovation. The wardrobe also smelled really bad. Otherwise, it is not a bad choice simply because of the lack of competition in Phrae.
We were here a few years ago, when they first opened. The property was really nicely done, attractive, and everything was in great (new) condition. A few years later and ownership needs a lesson in Thai property maintenance. From a very noisy air conditioner, to a totally cracked bathroom sink, tile and grout that needs attention and wood that should be refinished -- I love this property but cannot write a nice review like I did the first time.
Room was dirty. Dust pockets in the corners and dust on surfaces. The bathroom still had tons of hairs on the floor from the last visitor. The hotel grounds are pretty but also not maintained. Windows aren’t clean, public chairs, sofa’s and tables are dirty and covered in a layer of dust. The pool was dirty - full of bugs, feathers, sand in the bottom. Looks like it wasn’t being cleaned at all.
The hotel staff just sits around all day doing nothing at the reception. They don’t clean. They don’t offer you a drink when you’re sitting by the pool.
Furthermore, I visited on a Sunday and the restaurant was closed, so we had nowhere to eat.
This hotel looks way better on the pictures than it actually is.
Purpose of our stay was a trip around Thailand. We’re glad that we spent only 1 night in a so called Nana Deluxe Room.
Hotel staff: friendly & helpful
Room: Moderately clean, small, run-down furniture, deplorable micro bathroom – we felt very uncomfortable
Breakfast: in the best case average quality
We wouldn’t book this hotel again!
Nice place and the rooms are lovely. However the beds are really hard. The Mattresses feel like stone. Was hard to sleep. WIFI worked well. The pool is in the center of the hotel towards the back. Rooms are on two levels with no elevator.
It was raining all day and night in Phrae so that did not help to appreciate the town and hotel. They hardly speak English at the reception so you need some patience when you checkin and checkout (could not find the booking; asked for a voucher). The room and bathroom was bit rundown and so standard like you see in 3-star hotels everywhere. I hope there are better alternatives for future guests as the breakfast is poor too (even if the sun would have been shining).
The hotel is a bit dated but still comfortable. In city center (Phrae is a sleepy northern small city) yet quiet. The staff was very accommodating. The breakfast is minimal in selection. The room had a large refrigerator (we stayed 3 days) and comfortable bed. The bathroom large but could have been a bit cleaner--all tile floors which require a little more daily cleaning in the grout lines. I would return.
Very pretty hotel with lots of amenities. Recommended to us by our previous hotel in a nearby city. Close to the old city, but not close to the commercial part of town. They offered bikes to use, which was nice. The pool was out of service the day we were there and a local business was hosting a party that evening, which made things a little noisy for a while. We ate in their restaurant and our food was delicious. We would have had to get a taxi to do anything else.
The hotel and it's ground are very well kept. The style if it looks very nice. We stayed here 6 nights because of our family who lives in Phrae.
The personel here is very friendly and helpful. We booked two rooms and both were just superb! Very nice rooms. The only thing that lacked were some smaller towels. Furtermore just perfect.
The breakfast was okay. It didn't provide a wide variety of things to eat, but the warm dishes were just super! Gaeng Hung Lae, I just love it!
There was only one big issue during our stay...the swimming pool. While our children swam in it the first day (the sun was shining on it so we didn't really notice how bad it was) it was closed the day after. In the morning it looked just brown. Not good!
So we went to our former hotel Maeyom Palace to swim there for 50 Baht per person.
Another pool of a hotel of the same branch was provided free of charge but a bit too far for us. So that was too bad.
And what we missed was some kind of terrace where one could sit to eat and drink.
Some pro's then. It's very nearby BigC and Rommaiyai Restaurant!
If the pool was good and fresh, this would be a four star for me.
