It was warm and welcoming The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble.
Was dark when we arrived so it was quite difficult navigating the car park.
The staff were friendly.
It was disappointing on almost every count. The images on Booking.com make it look amazing - but images can be deceptive.
The beds were small - and springy, The pillows were synthetic cheap and uncomfortable. The beds were in an alcove within the room so it felt like you were in a coffin. There was only one tea bag for each person which is really mean. The tea mugs were tiny glass things that equated to about two mouthfuls.
It seems like The Lodge has tried to get their costs down to be competitive - but in doing so they have cut out the very things that make a stay relaxing and enjoyable. A comfortable bed, nice pillows - and enough tea bags for evening and breakfast maybe.
The Breakfast was ok but nothing to write home about. Hilton do it much better. We were asked if we wanted coffee - and were brought 1 cup each. It wasn't that nice. Maybe we could have had more if we had asked - or a juice even - but it was never offered. The waiter was not attentive in any way.
The Clubhouse have an evening menu - My wife had a burger but it was served cold.
The whole place feels like a Travelodge in disguise - in fact Travelodge has more comfy beds and so I would not bother staying there unless you are a golf nut - and if so you may just ignore all of what I have said and have a lovely time.

A beautifully appointed room. Very modern and smart. Exceptionally clean. Comfortable bed. And facilities are perfect.
Great value for money. Breakfast was beautiful too.
Only 1 thing which is very small. The milk for the coffee and tea facility in the room was soya milk which was horrible.
That is the only negative.
Excellent location. Clean & spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Comfortable lounge/bar area. Good food including excellent breakfast. Good VFM. Can thoroughly recommend & would be my first choice for any future stays in S.London/Surrey area.
Didnt have time to play golf but the course looked great !
The location was luxury, the room was very spacious and comfortable, we had a very nice deep sleep as there was no noise at all around the hotel. The shower and bathroom were spacious and super clean. The check in staff were very friendly and led us to the room, highly professional. Air con was working nicely and we were showed how to use the air con which was a nice touch. We will be returning again very soon. We were also able to buy some chocolate bars at the reception which was a nice bonus.
Lovely relaxing location
Food in the restaurant is basic, the menu really needs a revamp to offer a wider range, especially for a vegetarian diet. In the room the pillows were too soft, we requested firm pillows but the hotel didn't have any.
