Room was OK - restaurant wasn't ideal - poor food
The Lodge holds a special place in our hearts, as we stayed here for three weeks after selling our nearby home. Whenever we return to the area, this is always where we choose to stay. The bedding is excellent, and the surroundings and staff make every visit truly enjoyable.

Unable to provide an input for this as we had a delightful stay
The original room Booked was spacious and great had a comfortable sleep with my wife.
However, the room I originally booked was an Executive Suite. The day before check-in, I visited the hotel to prepare a surprise for my wife for our wedding day, and I was given a completely different room. I was assured by staff that it was the Executive Suite, even though I knew it was not.
After the wedding, when I arrived to check in, I was again told that the room provided was the Executive Suite. Later that night, I contacted reception to confirm, and I was then informed that the Executive Suite was actually available and that I could move to it if I wished.
I do not understand why I was repeatedly told that the room I was given was the one I had booked, when it clearly was not. I found this to be very unprofessional and misleading.
In addition, the room was never properly restocked — there were no bathrobes or slippers provided.
Poor service for such a big hotel name.
I don't think I would come back or recommend.
