Amazing Hotel, Amazing Staff
Pros:

I don’t often leave reviews, but I am compelled to share how amazing this hotel and staff are. The location is right where you want to be, the rooms are clean and air conditioned, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast has many options, and the vibe is relaxed. The staff is so helpful, and so kind. And if you are looking for a tour while on the island, Sergio was amazing. I truly could not have envisioned a more perfect experience.

Beautiful hotel with increadible owners
Pros:

We stayed in the hotel for 5 days and the experience was incredable! The owners snd the staff treat you as their most welcomed family members, not as the clients. Once we left the washed kid pijama in the room and later on the cleaning lady returned it dried and ironed. She explained that in winter the air is too humid for the clothes to dry quickly and drying in the timble dryer is the only way to have it ready for the next night.
There is attention to every detail. At breakfast there is always something new, such as different home made cakes, local seasoned fruits, contrary to the places where every morning you have the same and it becomes boring on the 3d day.
The outside territory is like a small part of the paradise with a lot of blossoming flowers and places to rest.
I would recommend this hotel to everyond without hesitation.

Fabulous!
Pros:

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at the Hotel Gomero. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, rather than super luxurious, and the setting is beautiful, with tropical gardens and planting. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit, juices, and a delicious home made rice porridge. Location is very good - a 10 min walk from town, and 5 mins walk from many restaurants and coffee shops. What makes the hotel so special, are the staff. They did all that they could, to ensure that we had the best possible experience during our stay, including sorting some last minute sightseeing for us. To Wai and Margarita especially, thank you so much for your caring hospitality!

A beautiful hotel on a beautiful island
Pros:

This is a fantastic and charming family- run hotel - the staff are so friendly and helpful - they did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The gardens and pool area is beautiful and surrounded by tropical plants. We stayed here in Feb 24 and would definitely recommend it - a beautiful oasis on a beautiful island

Old and Tired
Pros:

I'm confused by the rating on this hotel. Overlooking the disaster I had, it was still old, run down hotel. It was built a long time ago and they are still using the same mattress, sheets (stained), towels (grey) I think. It was not horrible, but would not qualify to be in any chain. Their is no a/c, apparently no where on the island. You wouldn't think 70 degree weather would be that hot, but in the room it is. No screens in bathroom, so no cross breeze, lights shining through front window, weak ceiling fan. So no sleep. Hot water didn't work. They tried to fix it twice, nope. So no sleep sweating all night and the shower is ice cold. I wasn't looking for a hot shower, just not ice water. The grounds are beautiful (watch out for being right on the road, which this place isn't), the breakfast was good and large, but kept seeing the same un eaten items brought back every day. Perhaps put less out? I get it, it's an island, but the rating doesn't match the reality of this place. No idea if it's the best place on the island, but just be prepared. And probably don't visit the island during the summer.

Beautiful property | Convenient to everything you'll need.
Pros:

I booked this hotel through Hotels.com and as such, the hotel arranged for me to be met at the airport (and returned at the end of my trip). The property is smallish and beautiful. The garden and the pool area are gorgeous. There is WiFi available in the reception area and adjacent room. My room was large and clean with a mini refrigerator and safe. It did not have air conditioning but the nights cool down and the ceiling fan kept the room cool and I slept comfortably. The property is a little bit removed from the downtown and is in more of a residential area. As such dogs barking at night and roosters crowing in the early morning can be a challenge if you're a light sleeper. I used earplugs personally and slept like a baby. The included breakfast was great!

I walked to the little town center and a bit further to the coast. There are many great shops and restaurants all along the way. There are markets just a short walk from the Hotel Gomero and there is an ATM on the walk to the coast just minutes from the town center.

OK but not a cigar winner except next to the lower
Pros:

OK but for $200 a night you might be a tad disappointed.
OLDER, no screen on. bathroom window. Breakfast OK.
The Moai are as stunning as they were when I was there
25 years ago but Hanga Rua (town) is quite a bit commercial. The streets and roads are surprisingly potholed; also, some of the locals drive like minor maniacs. I think Chile is draining money while putting little back in. Average restaurants are sub-average...go to Neptune Island or Kotaro if you can get in.

Comfortable and Convenient to town.
Pros:

One of the better choices of hotels from what we have researched. Comfortable in the premium room. (Standard room was too basic-small and no air conditioning.) Very convenient to town and the owner was extremely accommodating. Could have used a thorough cleaning, though. (But then again, we are very particular). A bit over-priced for what you get but it is a remote island. Overall, pleased with our choice.

Pros:

Lots of roaches (big and small) which is standard for island. Walls are very thin so hope you don’t have noisy neighbors.

BEAUTIFUL Hotel With Very Friendly Staff
Pros:

I highly recommend this place! The property was just beautiful! The hotel was just a few blocks from the main commercial area of Hanga Roa, and was also close to the airport. The best part: the staff was super-friendly!

Cons: Had some very minor issues with the toilet in the room, but was not a big deal at all. Also, the description on hotels.com said the hotel had air conditioning. My room did not; just a ceiling fan. Was not a big deal as I visited in Spring and the temps never got much above 75F-80F, so the ceiling fan and open windows sufficed. Also, no entertainment in the room, like a television. So bring you own books or movies. But the room itself was quite beautiful and comfortable.

Pros: Super-friendly staff. Well-maintained hotel. Central location. WiFi in the common areas (worked fine). Good, free breakfast every morning. Airport transfer. In-room safe. Overall, I highly recommend staying in this place if you are coming to Easter Island!

Beautiful tropical gardens, great Polynesian decor.
Pros:

Great location, close enough to walk into town but fair enough away to create a quiet escape. The room is basic but very clean and great dipping pool. Great hot water for the shower. Better then the other place we stayed.

Lovely Hotel, Helpful Staff
Pros:

Got greeted at the airport with beautiful leis for the short drive to the hotel. Enjoyed the fresh fruit welcome beverage while checking in. Only issue was that every listing says all rooms have air con and they don’t, and that was a reason why I had booked this hotel. Fortunate that one was avail so we got moved. Staff was very responsive to fixing things like a broken screen on the sliding door. The room opened up to the garden pool area which was relaxing and beautiful. Enjoyed the pool after long days of touring. Staff booked our Polynesian night dinner show which we enjoyed. They were spot on with their restaurant recommendations, enjoyed every one of them! Free breakfast to start your day in a bright dining room. Good location with just a short walk into town. Enjoyed our stay!

Cozy and Kind
Pros:

Really nice hotel, clean sheets and tasty breakfast. It was an amazing place to stay. Though the pool is small, it's fine if you just want to relax.
It's just a 10 minutes walk from the Main Street, and around 5 minutes to Santa Cruz church.
Very nice service and, although the wifi doesn't works perfectly, is not different from the rest of the island.
Thanks to the hotel team, can't wait to go back there!

Lovely and serene
Pros:

This older property is in an established neighborhood close to the Iglesias Santa Cruz and a 5-10 minute walk to the Kaleta. The style is Polynesian with lovely gardens and a small pool though Poolside chairs and lounges were lacking. Unfortunately our room was unavailable the first of our three nights so we were given an older and dated room. The latter nights were in a newer and larger room that was fabulous and comfortable. To amend this disruption Management comped us a traditional Polynesian performance at Kari Kari. Breakfast, served in a delightful natural lighted room surrounded by a garden, was excellent. The staff prepared eggs and omelets to order. WiFi is poor as in most of this remote island but the staff allowed us to confirm our flights on their computer.

Peaceful and lovely retreat
Pros:

I have just come back from a week at the Hotel Gomero. It is located in beautiful gardens about a 10 minute walk from the Main Street in a very tranquil area. The splash pool is a lovely feature and not common in most hotels on the Island. My room was cosy with a comfy bed and clean sheets, the bathroom had a powerful shower with plentiful hot water - my room was cleaned daily. Breakfast was tasty and the staff were really really friendly and helpful. I felt totally safe walking back from the Main Street alone at night and there was someone on duty 24/7. I think people making negative comments need to remember that Easter Island is not a luxury destination - it is a tropical island, the furthest point on the planet from continental land mass and has no manufacturing - understandably it is also very eco-conscious. Expect things to look well used and worn everywhere, expect to see insects everywhere - but this does not equate to poor cleaning and hygiene standards. Having seen the location and condition of a lot of the other hotels on the Island - the Gomero stands out and offers the visitor a clean , cosy, tranquil and safe environment. Thank you very much to the team for a lovely stay and hopefully I will see you all again one day!

Cozy Oasis
Pros:

My stay at Hotel Gomero was fantastic. We had a room that looked onto the main garden and small swimming pool, with a very comfortable bed, mini-fridge, and an excellent overhead shower. The Wifi is a bit patchy all over Isla de Pascua, which gave us time to relax on the various comfy couches and chairs around the hotel. The breakfast buffet is fantastic with fresh mango, kiwi, bananas and more, crepes, juice, tea and coffee, along with eggs, bread, cheese and more. The rooms are cleaned daily. In the morning you can hear birds chirping which is a beautiful way to wake up. The waiting staff were friendly, providing airport transfer and answered all of our (many!) questions about how to get around, where to rent a car, which scuba diving company was best, and recommended the Kari Kari dance show which was interesting and impressive. We felt at home and very welcome at Hotel Gomero, and I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and luxurious-feel hotel while also being authentic and very slightly off the main street of Hanga Roa. I left only a week ago and am already missing the whole experience! 100% recommended.

Everything we were looking for
Pros:

Perfect spot to stay, we were visiting Rapa Nui for one week, and in the hotel we received all the assistance and service we were looking for. The hotel has pretty nice rooms with an small refrigerator, hot water, air conditioning and daily cleaning. The breakfast included has an excellent and diverse buffet. The area has nice spots to rest like the garden, swimming pool and comfortable lobby. Fortunately the staff were very kind gave us information about the highlights to see on the island, rent a car, good scuba diving companies, and they offered us free pick up and drop off from the airport. Its in an excellent location close to the main street and walking distance to all parts of Hanga Roa. Gomera Hotel made our stay easy and comfortable. We had the best time and we would recommend it to anyone !

Poor experience
Pros:

I am afraid I did not have a good experience at this hotel.

I put the air con on on the first evening and this seemed to cause the electricity for the room to go off (it kept going on and off for an hour before giving up altogether). By this time it was very dark. I went to reception who, after fiddling about for 20 mins, told me I’d need to move rooms. The room I was leaving was pitch black by now and no torch was offered. I’d scattered my stuff everywhere for a 3 night stay and pointed out that I was going to struggle to find everything in the dark. I asked to check the room in daylight. This was refused - I was told it was either the one room or the other. I moved to the new room. It wasn’t prepared. It wasn’t clean. There were dead cockroaches on the floor (and I continued to be plagued by cockroaches all weekend). The towels were not clean (and weren’t replaced). There was no soap no toilet roll etc. I kept discovering these things and trotting to reception to ask for things. The room was the furthest one from reception and the receptionist didn’t speak any English at all so this got wearying very quickly. I have a little Spanish but it took a long time to explain each problem. There was no apology - I was made to feel like a nuisance.

The hotel asked you to put toilet tissue in a bin. The bin had no inner bag and had a previous occupant’s excrement smeared on the inside. The bin was also a cheap light plastic thing and eveytime you touched the pedal it just fell over tipping its contents across the floor.

Bizarrely although I got a bar of soap it was removed after one night. There was a soap dispenser in the bathroom but it was empty and never refilled.

The place was plagued with mosquitoes and there was no communal indoor space to retreat to - so when I was waiting an hour for the transfer back to the airport I got bitten all over. I asked to go into the restaurant but was told it was locked after breakfast and couldn’t be used.

There was one friendly member of staff who spoke good English but was only there briefly. Everyone else had no English at all and seemed disinterested in helping.

Gomero Hotel Easter Island
Pros:

The Gomero Hotel is located two streets from the Main Street, three streets from the sea front.

The church and market is located at the end of the street...about a 10 minute slow walk.

The tour company we used for day trips knew the hotel and so we were picked up/dropped off each day.

The breakfast was lovely, the staff delightful...they helped me locate the local Scout group to swap letters with my group.

There is no TV in the room, but if you want TV you probably shouldn’t be visiting the Island.

Wi-Fi was flakey but 3G adequate for looking at maps etc

Rooms and ensuite was clean, everything we needed for our stay.
