Pros:

We enjoyed our 2 night stay there. Both of the ladies that worked the front desk were wonderful in helping us out with several things, such as recommendations for restaurants, coffee shops, and most importantly for us, upon checking out, ordered us a taxi to our next destination and negotiated a set price for us to pay. If you’ve done any research regarding Tulum taxis, then you’ve heard the horror stories. We would definitely consider a return to this hotel for another visit in the future.

Hyggeligt hotel lidt væk fra by og larm. Udemærket yogatime og fine værelser. Personalet var søde og venlige og forsøgte at hjælpe så godt de kunne til trods for, at de ikke var helt flydende på engelsk. Vi lejede et par cykler, vi punkterede 4 gange på en dag, men det var super med muligheden, da cykel er en fantastisk måde at komme rundt og opleve byen på. Den inkluderede morgenmad bestod af en skive toastbrød med smør og marmelade, lidt frugt og en lille bitte skål yoghurt, så ikke noget prangende måltid. Vi endte med at tilkøbe ekstra begge dage. Her valgte vi overnight oats og æg. Begge smagte fint og blev tilbud til fine priser.

Pros:

No me gustó que al llegar me estaban cobrando un precio mucho mayor lo bueno que al final me respetaron el precio, por otra parte no hay establecimiento y no me indicaron el lugar correcto para estacionarse entonces al final tuve problemas y ya se estaban llevando mi auto por parte del tránsito, lo triste es que no te ayudan con este tema y tengo entendido que han tenido casos con el mismo problema, considero que deberían prevenir a sus huéspedes sobre este asunto. Por estos dos problemas mi estancia no fue agradable en su totalidad, fuera de eso el lugar es bonito.

Pros:

For the money the accommodations are good. The location is a bit out of the way but there are some good restaurants and cafes around if you look hard enough. The italian restaurant next door was excellent and the bakery across the street was amazing. The air conditioning worked but the bed was located away from the cool air and curling fan so it was a bit warm. When we booked it said the third night was free, however this was not true. I think this was on the hotels.com side and not the fault of the hotel itself. Overall good for the price

The hotel in an oasis in a city where development is out of control. Furnishings and landscaping are extremely tasteful and well done. Staff was amazing and almost a perfect place for a vacation.

BUT the internet..it was a constant frustration, completely unreliable and I was unable to manage my daily business chores. In addition they don't take credit cards which I discovered the night before a 5am departure. Luckily, after some probing, I discovered they take PayPal.

I am not sure if the internet is a local or Tulum issue but it would be a deal breaker for future stays,

Beautiful pool in a lovely setting. Rooms were spacious, beds were so comfortable. Tiny kitchens but great anyway. Location was quiet. Lovely place.

Pros:

I loved this hotel! The owner and staff were friendly, the hotel room was spacious, clean and beautiful, the food was amazing, and the garden and pool were wonderful. For me Sonido del Mar was a little oasis, where I could relax in the hammock when I wasn’t in the mood to go sightseeing. I’d definitely go back!
