We stayed here for one night before visiting Mount Bromo at sunrise. We booked a villa through Booking.com specifically for 5 adults, but when we arrived there were only beds for four people.
After calling the property, they brought us an “extra bed”, which was simply a mattress on the floor. Even worse, at check-out they charged us extra for it, saying we should have known the villa was only for four guests.
How could we have known when Booking.com allowed us to book it for five adults? The listing even states that there are two sofa beds in the living room, but there were no sofa beds at all.
If a villa is advertised and confirmed for five guests, proper sleeping arrangements for five should be included in the price. Very misleading and disappointing.

I would rather forget this unpleasant stay at the Grand Whiz. The room was a long way from reception, accessed by a series of ramps. No elevator. The room itself was dirty and badly equipped. There was nowhere to hang clothes. The shower had no soap and the tile floor was dangerously slippery. The power failed several times. The terrace was, like the shower, dangerously slippery. The dinner in the restaurant was nearly cold. The breakfast was poor.
Hotel is in dire need of renovation. Dirty, smelly, yellowish and smelly towels. Bed linens are yellowish. Wall paints are peeling and yellowish, window frame has problem closing the pane. Toilet is disgustingly dirty. Slow service. I do not know what happened to this hotel. It was the best accommodation in Bromo 30 years ago.
