loved the historical blending with modern hotel facilities and convenience to downtown restaurants and shopping.
great hotel.. I generally do not prefer valet parking, but only option available.
Generally lazy staff and a lot of hidden costs. Breakfast was awful.
Beds were comfortable and spacious, decor was really interesting.
Wilson the bartender was great and so were the waitstaff at the Refinery restaurant the next morning!
Beautiful hotel!! However!!!! My room assignment was horrible. Literally walked inside the room and looked out the enormous window only to see that it overlooked the valet parking lot. Literally if the window was not there, I would walk out 15 feet to the valet parking. The noise lever was unbearable. In addition to the noise, car alarm, car lock alarms, etc., the guests directly above my room were extremely loud and I think had a lot of kids. I could hear very, very loud footsteps and children yelling until 12:30 PM in addition to the cars pulling in and out of valet. Then, was awakened after a completely restless night at 5:30 AM to the loud footsteps, doors slamming, and various other loud noises. It was a completely unrestful night. The entire beauty of the hotel and my stay was ruined. I got up, did not shower and left before 10 AM as I was exhausted and over it. Horrible experience. Plus, the valet parking is $35 with no option to park yourself close by. Just an overall terrible experience. The hotel is beautiful and I am extremely disappointed.
We stayed Memorial Day weekend and could not have gotten luckier. The hotel was beautiful, with the nicest staff. Walking distance from everything you need downtown. Piano player at night to help us wind down from the day. Very comfortable room and bed.
The staff seemed ill trained for customer service. The rooms were blander than expected. We could not get the audio to work in the fitness center. A serviceable hotel but nothing to write home about.
I loved this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms spacious and airy. The hotel is a converted factory and the design and decor are in keeping with that motif- with brick walls and black iron in the decor. A great deal of thought and attention went into the design both aesthetically and functionally. As a fun bonus there is a tarot card reader available on Friday afternoons compliments of the hotel.
My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel. The property is in tip-top shape. The architect and interior designer did a wonderful job. Decorations are warm throughout the hotel and the bar area is stunning - great place to relax and chat. Our room was very well appointed and had all that you would expect at this price point. I was very pleased with the front desk; they were very helpful and courteous as was the valet.
The gym was a good size and had all the equipment needed for a workout. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and our omelets were great, as was the service. The only thing that I didn't care for is the $35/night parking, which seemed pricey to me.
We loved the decor and how aspects of the old foundry were integrated into the hotel. There are a few quirks because of how the five buildings were integrated into one, such as lots of stairs, but the one thing that we found strange—although it had no impact on a very good experience—was that our room had a fridge but no microwave. Every staff member with whom we interacted was pleasant and helpful, and special kudos to the valet parking men and women! The location is ideally close to restaurants, galleries, and museums.
Excellent food & service for breakfast. Beautiful renovated buildings connected with new compatible architecture make this hotel special in this historic part of Asheville.
We took our dog for a walkable trip in downtown. The property is very appealing and clean. The only option for parking is valet, which was easy and prompt. The food service staff and housekeeping staff were both friendly and professional. The room was quiet, our request about room location was honored, and we were provided everything we asked for from the staff. This is undoubtedly the best hotel in downtown Asheville.
We stopped in to eat lunch at The Refinery after seeing a recent article about brunch offerings at the new restaurant at this hotel. The restaurant was closed but Amanda at the bar showed us their bar menu and said she'd be happy to take care of us. She was so sweet and insistent we decided to take her up on it, and she made us amazing mimosas which we enjoyed immensely before our absolutely delicious burgers arrived - cooked to order with white cheddar, caramelized onions & bacon, along with amazing French fries. What could have been a failed experiment turned into a wonderful adventure thanks to Amanda - service with a smile, she went out on a limb and absolutely made our day.
Oh - this was our first visit to this hotel property - we did not stay, but the lobby was beautiful. And if the rest of the staff is anywhere near as helpful and upbeat as amanda was, i cannot imagine how you could go wrong! Great location, walkable to everything downtown.
A creative renovation of a former foundry has made for a great hotel. Our room was laid out nicely, it was quiet and within walking distance of tourist attractions. Interestingly, there are no ice machines on the hotel floors. You can get ice from the restaurant. The Foundry also has an outstanding bar. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Asheville.
The whole staff were great. Valet person Lupe was very helpful.
The hotel and grounds are beautiful. We can not wait to come back.
Lupe and Hunter were fantastic! Got us on our way immediately. Great location for Asheville, and the hotel is very comfortable with everything we need! Highly recommend!
Lupe was great. The entire stay was a pleasure. Looking forward to coming back again.
The hotel was also above our expectations
