Lovely hotel, staff amazing, treating us like family especially AJ.
I’m extremely neurotic about cleanliness, especially at hotels. Every nook and cranny of our long weekend getaway was clean. In addition the hotel property is stunning. We had a wonderful time. The lobby bar had delicious cocktails and fun weekly specials. All around great stay. Valet was more $ compared to garage parking near by BUT it was cold and super worth it to have the car right out front when needed.
We loved this hotel. Gorgeous room. Delicious bed. Great restaurant. Perfect neighborhood.
Vegan options at the restaurant and the piano in the lounge in which a local musician spontaneously started playing and drew a crowd - so fun:)
The Foundry is a wonderful example of repurposing old spaces. The property retained a vintage vibe while creating a modern and classic feel to it. The restaurant on site was a nice option when we didn’t want to go out, and the lobby is a very comfortable spot for an evening nightcap. Was concerned the valet-only parking on-site would be a hassle but it was incredibly convenient. The location of the hotel was perfect for walking to the many downtown shops and galleries, with numerous notable restaurants a 5-10 minute walk away. And sights like the Biltmore were a short, easy drive. Highly recommend a stay here.
loved the historical blending with modern hotel facilities and convenience to downtown restaurants and shopping.
great hotel.. I generally do not prefer valet parking, but only option available.
Generally lazy staff and a lot of hidden costs. Breakfast was awful.
Beds were comfortable and spacious, decor was really interesting.
Wilson the bartender was great and so were the waitstaff at the Refinery restaurant the next morning!
Beautiful hotel!! However!!!! My room assignment was horrible. Literally walked inside the room and looked out the enormous window only to see that it overlooked the valet parking lot. Literally if the window was not there, I would walk out 15 feet to the valet parking. The noise lever was unbearable. In addition to the noise, car alarm, car lock alarms, etc., the guests directly above my room were extremely loud and I think had a lot of kids. I could hear very, very loud footsteps and children yelling until 12:30 PM in addition to the cars pulling in and out of valet. Then, was awakened after a completely restless night at 5:30 AM to the loud footsteps, doors slamming, and various other loud noises. It was a completely unrestful night. The entire beauty of the hotel and my stay was ruined. I got up, did not shower and left before 10 AM as I was exhausted and over it. Horrible experience. Plus, the valet parking is $35 with no option to park yourself close by. Just an overall terrible experience. The hotel is beautiful and I am extremely disappointed.
We stayed Memorial Day weekend and could not have gotten luckier. The hotel was beautiful, with the nicest staff. Walking distance from everything you need downtown. Piano player at night to help us wind down from the day. Very comfortable room and bed.
The staff seemed ill trained for customer service. The rooms were blander than expected. We could not get the audio to work in the fitness center. A serviceable hotel but nothing to write home about.
I loved this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms spacious and airy. The hotel is a converted factory and the design and decor are in keeping with that motif- with brick walls and black iron in the decor. A great deal of thought and attention went into the design both aesthetically and functionally. As a fun bonus there is a tarot card reader available on Friday afternoons compliments of the hotel.
My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel. The property is in tip-top shape. The architect and interior designer did a wonderful job. Decorations are warm throughout the hotel and the bar area is stunning - great place to relax and chat. Our room was very well appointed and had all that you would expect at this price point. I was very pleased with the front desk; they were very helpful and courteous as was the valet.
The gym was a good size and had all the equipment needed for a workout. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and our omelets were great, as was the service. The only thing that I didn't care for is the $35/night parking, which seemed pricey to me.
We loved the decor and how aspects of the old foundry were integrated into the hotel. There are a few quirks because of how the five buildings were integrated into one, such as lots of stairs, but the one thing that we found strange—although it had no impact on a very good experience—was that our room had a fridge but no microwave. Every staff member with whom we interacted was pleasant and helpful, and special kudos to the valet parking men and women! The location is ideally close to restaurants, galleries, and museums.
Excellent food & service for breakfast. Beautiful renovated buildings connected with new compatible architecture make this hotel special in this historic part of Asheville.
We took our dog for a walkable trip in downtown. The property is very appealing and clean. The only option for parking is valet, which was easy and prompt. The food service staff and housekeeping staff were both friendly and professional. The room was quiet, our request about room location was honored, and we were provided everything we asked for from the staff. This is undoubtedly the best hotel in downtown Asheville.
