Dass wir das Hotelzimmer bereits um 12 Uhr beziehen konnten.
Das Hotel ist absolut seinen Preis nicht wert! Wenn ein Hotel so umfangreichen Renovierungsarbeiten unterzogen wird, dann sollte es eigentlich in dieser Zeit geschlossen werden und nicht zu einem solch unverschämt hohen Zimmerpreis vermietet werden! Die Lärmbelästigung war erheblich und dauerte bis spät abends. Auch die Staubentwicklung war sehr unangenehm! Das Frühstücksangebot war ebenfalls sehr mager!
Das Hotelzimmer war sehr klein, und man hatte keinen Platz, um seine beiden Koffer komplett zu öffnen!
Die Erreichbarkeit des Hotels mit dem Taxi war äußerst schwierig. 2 von 4 Taxifahrer ließen uns früher aussteigen, da sie nicht genau wussten nicht, wie sie zum Hotel kommen sollten, da auf der Rambla zusätzlich umfangreiche Bauarbeiten im Gange sind!
Historic landmark. It was completely in awe my whole stay due to the architecture and the historic meaning of the hotel. The service was also top notch. Javier made our breakfasts the best and fully tailored to our liking.

I booked this hotel at a premium price specifically for two reasons: the balcony and the location. On both counts, and several others, it failed to deliver.
Key Card Deactivated Prematurely: On the third day, my key card stopped working. When I went to the front desk to have it reprogrammed, while in a hurry to leave for a museum, I discovered the hotel had only activated it for two nights despite a three-night booking. I had settled the full payment at check-in and provided an additional card hold for incidentals, so the hotel was fully aware of the duration of my stay. There is no excuse for this oversight, and the disruption it caused was entirely avoidable.
The Balcony: The headline feature of the room turned out to be a narrow strip of space barely large enough to stand on. Worse, it was clearly not maintained: thick with dust and with rusted metal guardrail. This is a safety and hygiene concern, not just an aesthetic one.
The Shower: A persistent plumbing fault meant water flooded across the bathroom floor every single time we showered. We reported this multiple times across our three-night stay. The hotel neither sent anyone to fix it nor provided additional bath mats despite requests to manage the flooding. We were simply left to deal with it.
Water, A New Low: In years of hotel stays across multiple countries, I have never encountered a property that provides less than 50cl of complimentary water per person per night. Here, two guests received two 33cl bottles between them. When I politely requested more, a bellboy curtly directed me to the minibar at €4 for a 33cl bottle. The response was rude and the policy is frankly unreasonable for a hotel at this price point.
Despite informing the hotel that we do not drink coffee and would need extra tea bags, we were provided just two per night, one each for double occupancy. To make matters worse, these were generic branded bags rather than anything of a quality befitting the room rate.

Location was great as we were able to walk to all the sites we wanted to see. Room was bigger than I had expected. The breakfast is held in a beautiful room.
Well appointed rooms, very clean. Breakfast was brilliant and the staff where very friendly.
