I do not recommend it at all, it is a hostel if you can call it that, it is extremely basic for the price they charge 150$us they charge more expensive than the luxury hotels in the area, I do not know how tripadvisor allows this type of hotel in its Web . Scammers when we made the reservation with an agency they told us a lower price and when it arrived and saw that we were foreigners others charged us double unfortunately the hotels had no availability for a sporting event. I describe them they did not have heating. And the heating they had was a jug with a heater that is totally toxic, we flatly refused, we almost froze. Totally disgusting rooms were not clean smelled. Bad bathtub with hair they did not have bathroom amenities towels with a bad smell sheets with hair, their food made us sick they do not have sanitary standards totally disgusting, the hotel does not have cleaning procedures or biosecurity protocols, they did not even want to give us drinking water for the price . I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, it does not have hotel management to charge what they charge, this class of hotels the government should regulate They give a bad impression to such a wonderful country. No receipt they wanted to give us to claim namos and they saw that we were foreigners they charged us double the other hotels unfortunately they did not have availability for a sporting event. They did not want to give us a receipt to claim our agency indicating that they are managed by locals, what an inappropriate argument, a shame of a hotel
The hotel looks good on the inside. The external needs some improvement. The hotel is situated about half hour drive from Uyni salt flat. The breakfast is the same for both days I stayed. Before the breakfast time was over, the staff started packing up the breakfast buffet. When we asked for food etc, the staff brought them out again. The room was clean but cold. The heater they provided for a triple-room looked like a hand warmer. I think they need to be a bit more service-oriented.
From the outside, the Sumaj Rijchariy looks like an abandoned commercial building. The interior public spaces are visually pleasing and have a certain "salt hotel charm. But out two-day stay here was a frustrating joke, I recommend avoid staying here like the plague. No hot water, at times, no water at all. Our "bathtub" had a fixed shower head, no filler spout. The room stank of sulfur or sewer, hard to tell which. No air-conditioning, no heat. The electrical power went out about 20 times a night. The WiFi rarely resulted in a usable connection to the internet. The mattress was soft/lumpy, same for the pillows. Fixtures and everything else was of the lowest possible quality. The breakfast and our included dinners were so bad, we took the 30-minute taxi ride into Uyuni to avoid eating at the "hotel".
