Ruth Hotel

Nice location a few kilometres outside the town centre. All basic needs are provided for and I have no complaints about anything.

Loud horrible place to stay. Shower not working. Couldn’t sleep at night. Strange people knocking the doors middle of night. Costumer serice was very good, very welcoming and pleasant.

The hotel is nice, laid out well and very kind people. Food at the hotel is good, better at dinner when you order from the menu, but breakfast is also fine with many options. You are not close to the city center, piazza, etc., and the bajaj will charge you more to drive at night between the piazza and the hotel, FYI.

Biggest complaint--they say they can take cards, but then tell you the machine is down. I don't think it actually ever works--they just tell you it's down, can you get cash. Be prepared to either pay it all in cash or argue.

Wir waren Anfang Dezember 2018 für 2 Nächte im Ruth Hotel. Die Zimmer sind klein aber OK und sauber. Bad mit heißem Wasser. Frühstücksbuffet war ausreichend, wenn man auch mal etwas von den warmen äthipischen Speisen auf Injera Basis auf seinen Teller legt. Grundlage für Injera ist Teff Mehl, das unserem Getreide in Bezug auf wertvolle Inhaltsstoffe bei weitem überlegen ist - deshalb sollte man sich durchringen, das zu probieren. Wenn man sich an den etwas sauren Geschmack gewöhnt hat, will man es jeden Tag. Swimmingpool sah sehr schön aus, zum Schwimmen war es uns an den Abenden im Dezember zu kalt, aber schön, dort auf der Liege einen Tee oder ein Bier zu genießen. Etwas weit außerhalb der Stadt. Fahrt mit dem Bajaj kostet 100 Birr bis ins Stadtzentrum und dauert etwa 15 - 20 Minuten. Unser einziges Problem war, dass die Glastür zur Straße zu linjks und rechts nicht bündig an den Beton anschließt und der Straßenlärm früh recht laut zu hören ist. Nachts ist dann relativ ruhig, weil der Verkehr dann fast zum erliegen kommt. Dennoch ratsam sich Ohropax mit zu nehmen. Die Zimmer wurden nachts recht schnell kalt, da es durch die Spalten von draußen rein zieht - und es gibt ja weder Heizung noch Toch Thermoglasschreiben. und im Dezember fallen die Außentemperaturen schon mal auf 14 Grad. Die Betten (Twin Rooms) sind aber sehr bequem und haben eine warme Decke.

The staff are very pleasant and welcoming. The hotel is clean, but could use a little attention when it comes to finishes and functionality. Our shower wasnt sealed at the base and the floor flooded when you had a shower. Besides that I have no complaints, like I said the staff make up for any of then building’s shortcomings.

Very comfortable bed in a nice room. Good breakfast served and other meals available in the restaurant. Somewhat far from the historic sights in town but transportation is easily available. Staff is very courteous, friendly, and helpful. The electricity was off several times during my stay.

In my visit to Gonder with my family, I really like the hotel, the room is clean, the facilities are excellent and all the staffs are very nice. My little sister also love it since it has children swimming pool and playing garden.

Bon accueil et wifi et groupe électrogène très appréciable . Lavage linge disponible pas cher. Piscine tempérée. Petit déjeuner sur mesure. Pente de évacuation de Douche mérite d'être refaite. Literie très correcte et propre. Patron serviable. Grand parking sécurisé. Bon rapport qualité-prix

Globalement bien mais évacuation des eaux de la douche complètement à revoir dans Les 3 chambres que nous avons testées. Blanchisserie disponible très appréciable et pas chère.petit déjeuner copieux. Wifi rapide et groupe électrogène disponible et fonctionnel bien appréciable pour le wifi en continu. Patron à l'écoute et serviable.

The hotel lost our Orbitz reservations but fortunately our son was there to walk them through the reservation when he showed them proof that they had been paid. They said they have airport pick up but our plane was late and they refused to pick us up. We had to book our own taxi at a considerable expense. There were no towels in our room and the staff were all sleeping so we could not get towels the first night. The next morning the maid was given keys to vacant rooms to locate towels. She brought us one hand towel. Our room was never serviced by a maid during our stay. We stayed two nights. The final night we had no water. They opened up a vacant room that had water! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice. They did take us back to the airport on our final day.
