Comfortable accommodation with scenic views
Amazing service, we stayed with a planned Kinder Scout walk the next day (Hottest day of the year!)
The breakfast was fantastic with great service, and Mark really made sure that we were prepared.
As it had been the bank holiday, food was limited Monday evening but that is totally understandable, and we enjoyed a lovely walk into nearby Hayfield for dinner
Nice pub with friendly host
Lovely breakfast plus nice dinner all with fresh local ingredients.
Good value
Room pretty small
Very accommodating owners, keen to please and make our stay great
The welcome from the landlord was first class and breakfast was very good.
We arrived on a Monday and the Lantern Pike is not open Mondays other than for rooms. We had to go out to eat (good recommendation from landlord) and could not get a drink. This should have been made clear on the booking site.
Amazing location, mark the landlord was really helpfull, told us about trails and waliks near by, amazing stay comfortable
Breakfast was excellent and the host did his best to make our stay a pleasant one
upon arrival at Lantern pike hotel .....despite my long ago booking being made clearly for a twin room ....i was advised that the twin room was not available .....and my option was to be accomadated in a double room with an air bed ...or a call could be made to an alternative hotel in glossop for possible accomadation . As it was 5.30pm ....and my friend and i had travelled from Orkney by ferry departing at 11,45 pm the previous night and had driven down for 7 hours to get to Langton pike ...we were exhausted tired and felt the least stressful option was to go for the double room and air bed ? Not great
Friendly and great breakfast.

Comfy clean and welcoming
Brilliant food
Very friendly and helpful host even though working under great personal pressure - and that was most kind.
Beautiful old inn with traditional characteristics and a modern updated detailing
Nothing
The staff went above and beyond to meet our needs. Lovely people. It was very handy for walking up Kinder Scout.
Location. Good food. Friendly Hosts
Parking limited & on busy road. Toilet a little too snug.
The landlord was extremely helpful, the food was good and the room comfortable. There was a good walk nearby behind the Inn and good views.
Perfect location for walking. Steve behind the bar was a great host making sure we had everything we needed.
Mark, the owner, couldn’t have done more for us. Very generous, and cooked us a great breakfast and then sent us off with sandwiches for our hike.
Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Five stars all round.
Our room was clean and tidy with an exceptional amount of sockets. We had a very nice meal on the Sunday night and the breakfast on the Monday and Tuesday morning was very good, freshly cooked with local ingredients - the bacon was particularly good. We hadn't realised that the Lantern Pike was closed on Monday but Mark recommended a local restaurant and even booked a table for us. Overall a very pleasant stay!
There was nothing about the stay that we could have complained about.
The staff were friendly and the owner was lovely and very welcoming.
The food was brilliant and tasty
The room was comfortable and clean
