Background: six friends on a walking holiday in the Cilento region. Two nights at the Antonietta booked.
Arrival: we were dropped off after a day of walking. Nice reception.
Rooms: pleasant, a little small but very clean and perfectly fine. Loads of hot water for showers. Good WiFi.
Food: breakfast good, buffet. Breads, fresh croissants, fruit etc. We did not eat in the hotel for dinner.
Hotel: nice overall, outside areas not particularly in use as it was early in the season and everywhere was very quiet. We ate in a very pleasant restaurant in the square opposite the hotel as we were six vegetarians and it was cheap and basic. The hotel is in a fantastic position, no complaints.
Riding on a bike under Napels we visited antonietta. Small misfortune: i fell and needed a Medical kit. There was none. We had to beg for a second pair of towels: they weren’t on the list....
The room we got was in the far back of the hotel. No WiFi, No willingness to give us another room.
Also a room without airco. 30 degrees.
The breakfast was the usual one: without any cheese or salami.
The attending Staff didn’t sprak one word of english....
Consigliato: ci torneremo volentieri
Staying in San Marco is staying at a nice and frienldy place with beach and enough restaurants. Antonietta hotel is good, friendly staff. The breakfast is good espacially for Italian standards. Not only sweets! You can eat in restaurant Su on the roof terrace, great food! You can park for free on a parking place nearby or yoy can park at the parkingplace of a hotel nearby. You pay 4 euro per day, but then there is camera surveillance and less chance of damage. (and always place). There's a small beach nearby (200m) and a bigger one with parasols and sunbeds a little further (600 m).
Great place to stay and see the surrounding area. Not so many tourists as there are in Santa Maria.
The free wifi doesn't work in every room, but who cares, it's your holiday!
A very nice hotel, located both close to the beach and at the town square where everything happens. Lots of restaurants only minutes away and an own roof top restaurant and bar. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Pictures all from the roof top in different directions.
Very nice and clean hotel. All staff was very friendly! The roof terrace is fantastic.
-There is a public beach about 200m from the hotel. Beach towels available.
-Free wifi even if the massive building creates weak signal.
-The town and the trails around is good for running.
Enjoyed the stay!
Can i say that this was one of the best meals we have eaten, we were a party of 6 friends eating alone on the roof terrace one day after the restaurant opened for the summer period. The food was prepared in front of were we sat, by the Chef and owner of the family run and owned hotel, we were treated like royalty, and the views were fantastic. San Marco itself is a very beautiful little town, with nice little shops, but to eat this is the place may i thank the family for the hospiltaliy
Friendly owner, friendly staff, good food, clean rooms. We felt immediately at home here. We couldn't reach the hotel by car due to the abundant amount of one-way streets in this town. A friendly lady from the staff walked to our car and guided us to the hotel. I'd certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in this (beautiful) area.
The Antonietta Hotel is a small family run hotel in the lovely port town of San Marco. The room was simple but more than adequate thanks to the air conditioning. Note, that single rooms do not have air conditioning so it's worth paying the small daily supplement if you are travelling alone. The hotel has two restaurants, one internal and the other on the roof terrace. Both serve excellent fresh local food. The rooftop brasserie, called Su, is an experience of excellent dining with an incredible view over the sea. Don't leave San Marco without experiencing the fresh food, cooked to order in Restaurant Su. The hotel's main attribute is its wonderful staff who made me feel completely at home from the moment I arrived. I hope to be back!
We had a fantastic stay at Antonietta. The rooms are appropriate and we had a fantastic view over the hills and rooftops. The breakfast is restricted but good. The restaurant is also very nice and takes advantage of the plentiful fresh fish and seafood that is taken in by boats less than five minutes walk from the kitchen.
There is a rooftop area to sunbath or relax if you want some quiet time, and has amazing views of the Castellabate hilltop old town.
The location is beautiful, on the town square with a good bar/restaurant across fromit on the ground floor.
The best thing about the place is the incredibly helpful reception and kitchen staff who made our stay pleasant and helped us get to the wedding we were attending as there was no getting a taxi. Thanks again guys if you read these!
My wife, daughter and I spent a few wonderful days at the this hotel a couple of weeks ago, we just fell in love with the location (the hotel is situated in a lovely little square in the centre of the charming small town of San Marco) and the exceptional service from the owner and his crew. Frankly, we were treated to a wonderful array of local cuisine delicacies for lunch (our waist line is still trying to recover from the experience:)) and, thanks to the great deals that the hotel's owner managed to arrange for us with the local bars and restaurants, a wonderful few meals out too!
The whole stay greatly surpassed our most daring expectations, forgot to mention we enjoyed a fantastic rate (low season here we come) and a pleasantly warm weather for the time of the year, a true taste of the "real" south of Italy!
I'd sincerely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a personal touch in terms of service, this family run gem will remain in our memories for a long time to come...
