Another Place, The Machrie

Very nice Scottish Inn and golf course. Staff mostly extremely helpful and polite. Food was good.

the property did welcome pets however the room we were given was below standard ,the window leaked badly from the storm Amy and the noise coming from it was horrendous. thankfully reception managed to put us in a suitable room, the staff on reception were excellent .the golf course was excellent but very disappointed that there was no drying room after a severe soaking from the inclement weather i would have thought that such a prestigious course as the Machrie would have suitable drying facilities the meals were excellent.

The property is beautiful and the staff are very kind. Had great recommendations from the bartender (Carson?) and really enjoyed the sauna and a walk to the beach.

The Machrie always had the potential to be a top class hotel. This was my fourth visit and there has been a marked improvement which I put down to the management of the hotel provided by Another Place. Organisation, service and customer focus have all made great strides.
This has moved The Machrie from having the potential to being a first class experience

Amazingly beautiful setting. Excellent service. This experience in June on Islay is just a step or two short of Heaven.

We were so thrilled to be able to secure a room after a terrible Airbnb experience. Luckily they had a cancellation and we were in. The hotel as well as the staff were wonderful! Special mention to Cameron,Alex and Sarah who work in the restaurant and added to our exceptional experience. The food was beautifully prepared and presented and the drinks were among the best. Thank you for turning our trip around. 💕😃

Such a beautiful hotel and staff were always approachable and pleasant. Hotel very clean and tidy.

Loved the board with all the activities and information about the island at reception, great idea.

I found the restaurant very expensive, also we were unable to get 2 different cocktails of the menu during the 3 days we were there, because they had no pineapple juice and also no rosé wine which was disappointing.

Our room was beautifully appointed. Large comfortable bed, lovely soft fluffy towels and all the little extras you could wish for.

Absolutely gorgeous spot to stay and felt so private. The food was top notch as was the staff. And the balcony of the restaurant was perfect to watch the sunset over the bay each night. Im not a golfer but the beautiful course makes me want to learn to play.
