My second stay and just as enjoyable as the last one.
Cosy but adequate room this time with all the extras you could wish for.

The breakfast was among the best my husband and I have had.
The mattress was very comfortable, and the bed a good size.
The room was nicely decorated and again of a good size.
There was some stress and confusion over the extra £5 charge on the menu if you wanted both continental and cooked breakfast - as opposed to either/or. However, guests often like something from the continental before something cooked - we certainly do. When I was told we could in fact have yoghurt plus compote without an extra charge that was good, but why then have the charge in the first place? Apparently this was because some people eat absolutely everything on the continental and then have a cooked plate as well. This seems unlikely, or at least very rare ...
There was also an unwelcome comment saying that you would be charged if you removed the bathroom products. Again, it seems unlikely anyone would remove big containers, and of course you should be charged if so - but to have to read this under your nose while brushing teeth was distinctly off-putting.
We could not cool down the room, and the night's sleep was poor as a result.
For the £200 we paid (out of season) it was disappointing to have for coffee only a sachet of instant coffee in the room - a small cafetiere, or nespresso, would have been great.
Beautiful rooms, great location, helpful staff
Staff very pleasant and helpful. We were given a free upgrade which was much appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, nice choices and very tasty. The lounge and library are lovely communal rooms to relax in during the day. Great city view from our room (5)
The pillows were both very firm, I prefer a soft pillow. The bathroom was very cold - only the towel rail provided heating. Not sure if there was under floor heating - if there was it wasn't working/switched on.
