Stamba a fascinating hotel and a unique experience in itself. Housed in a former publishing house, it blends industrial-chic design with Soviet-era architecture and artistic flair, creating an atmosphere unlike any conventional luxury hotel.
Our terrace room was enormous, with comfortable bedding, soft linens, and plush pillows. The water pressure was excellent, and hot water was plentiful. The hotel’s public spaces are stunning and full of character, making it a destination in its own right.
That said, there were a few drawbacks. The open-concept shower shares the same air-conditioned space as the bedroom, which made it uncomfortably cold after showering while drying off. The Wi-Fi was unreliable and frequently disconnected, to the point of being unusable during our stay.
The corridor leading to rooms are very dim with red paint giving a shabby and gloomy feel.
The room features an impressive cocktail setup complete with instructions and bar equipment, which initially feels like a thoughtful touch. However, all beverages are chargeable and priced at a high premium.
Parking can also be challenging. There is no guest car park, and upon arrival I was informed that valet service was unavailable and that I would need to find a parking space before checking in.
Ultimately, Stamba offers a memorable design-led experience and is perfect for travellers who appreciate architecture, art, and atmosphere. However, given the room rates and the fact that breakfast is not included, I personally did not feel it offered the best value for money.
Stamba remains one of the most extraordinary hotel experiences anywhere.
Returning to Tbilisi after several years and walking back into Stamba felt less like checking into a hotel and more like reconnecting with the creative soul of the city itself. The building has an atmosphere that is impossible to manufacture. Industrial, intellectual, artistic, slightly chaotic in the best possible way, yet deeply comfortable at the same time.
The design is exceptional. The transformation of the former Soviet-era publishing house has been done with remarkable confidence and restraint. Concrete, steel, glass, books, plants, warm lighting, and carefully layered textures somehow come together to create a space that feels both cinematic and genuinely lived in. Every corner invites curiosity.
What makes Stamba so special is that it never feels generic or commercially polished in the predictable luxury-hotel sense. It has personality, identity, and cultural depth. You feel connected to Tbilisi simply by being there.
The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and full of thoughtful details, while the communal spaces constantly hum with energy from artists, travelers, creatives, and locals alike. Few hotels manage to feel this internationally sophisticated while still remaining so deeply rooted in their city.
Stamba is not simply a place to stay in Tbilisi. It is part of understanding Tbilisi itself.
Absolutely perfection everything was a 10. Location was great lots to do shops, restaurants, historic buildings. The books displayed everywhere was unique. The hitel restaurant Cafe Stamba was fantastic.
Layout and design
Good location near metro station. Large well furnished and comfortable room. Lovely bathroom. Balcony. Lovely vegan breakfast option, Vegan Bowl. Nice restaurant, Pink Bar and bakery.
Corridors and reception area very dark. Checked out and heading for Bolt taxi I had ordered was called back to be told we had taken a packet of dates from mini bar two days earlier. We hadn’t had anything from the mini bar, had to sign to say we hadn’t used the mini bar. Almost missed taxi. Not a great end to an otherwise lovely stay. Service slow in Pink Bar.
Great service, beautiful room, unique experience
Design and interior. Really amazing. The room was unique and cozy.
A bit of noise from the inner courtyard.
I prepaid via booking.com. However, at check-in the hotel insisted on payment directly to the hotel and said that Booking.com will reimburse the prepayment. As Booking.com did not do this I ended up paying twice for the room. It was disappointing that Stamba Hotel did nothing to resolve this situation, instead pointing fingers at an equally unresponsive Booking.com and leaving it to their guests to spend time on trying to resolve this situation.
An exceptional hotel in Georgia. Visually stunning, an amazing building. We had an Aviator Signature room which was simply beautiful. Huge bed, massive bathroom. So interesting to look at all the books and to wander around the hotel.
We had superb, creative cocktails in the buzzy Pink Bar. Unfortunately we had only one night so did not get to try breakfast due to a very early departure. Staff were friendly and helpful at reception and also the concierge.
Although the hotel price for airport transfer was 120 GEL, the staff helped us get a Bolt taxi for half the price.
Perhaps unsurprisingly the security staff are touchy about photography inside the hotel and advised me I could not use my camera, even when we were in a space with no people.
Unfortunately somewhat noisy at night from the courtyard.
The prices for the minibar items are not visible in the room so this could catch out the unaware.
Beware the cross spray setting of the brass shower apparatus !
