Pros:

The hotel and the room I stayed in was lovely and clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfortable. Nice touches in the room, with tea, coffee, and a coffee maker. Dyson hairdryer!! Pillow spray left in the room as well. There was also a desk / dressing table which was perfect to work from. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom. I had an evening meal which was very good, but did not eat breakfast. I would stay again and I would recommend.

Cons:

All good! If I was being picky, would like a little more space in the room!!

Stay was good but not as good as previous stays here
Pros:

Great location right next to Haytor with dog friendly rooms that open straight on to the gardens. Nice big lounge with comfy sofas.

Cons:

We have stayed a few times before and it was all previously excellent, this time not so much, hopefully better next time. A bit disorganised with tables left uncleared for a really long time in the lounge. Breakfast items not topped up unless staff asked even though it wasn’t busy. Very limited menu available on first night.

Perfect spot for exploring Dartmoor
Pros:

Great hotel right on the edge of the moors. It's a tiny bit dated in the rooms/hallways, but this is simply the style of the property and nothing to detract from the enjoyment. The team were super helpful and looked after us well during a 90th b-day celebration lunch. Thoughtful dog treats and toy in the room - cute touch.

Cons:

Just one small problem with the room key not being set up correctly (twice) which meant a couple of trips to reception from our room at the far end of the hotel. Minor issue. Mixed experiences with the food at lunch - mostly very good, but question the 'Brixham Catch of the Day' being a farmed salmon fillet. Again, not a big deal for this occasion and we would happily stay there again as a couple.

Warm and realxing whilst the weather outside was deliciously wet and wild.
Pros:

The room was really clean and very welcoming with bedside lights on and a radio playing classical music when I entered. the staff that I met were all efficient and personable. There were also other details like Nespresso machine (although I don't drink coffee) and a dyson hairdryer that were impressive. The touch of having a rubber duck sat on the soap dish in the ensuite was cute and there was a welcome note from Housekeeping all of which created a warm impression.

Cons:

I was less keen on the breakfast but that is more to do with me - I am a vegetarian that doesn't like eggs so that left the option of a vegan sausage sandwich from the menu (not a fan of cooked tomatoes so didn't want the full breakfast). So I would have liked perhaps the option of american pancakes with fruit and yoghurt,
