The location and views were absolutely stunning! The vibe was amazing, and the rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The food was just okay, but the service and staff were outstanding—special shoutout to Annie at the beach bar and Gar for making the experience even better!
We were there to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday. We had our sons with us, 6, 7, and 11 years old. My in-laws also came with us (60s). It went great. There was something for everyone. Beach, pools, games, restaurants, bars, bikes, jet skis, etc. Everything was family friendly, and the resort was really nice.
Tv issues: not enough apps. No ABC.
Staff was very courteous but many had trouble understanding English.
It would be great if you had a few Pickleball courts.
Helpful staff everywhere we went. Grounds are well kept. Rooms are spacious and attractively decorated.
This might have been a good place to visit about 10-15 years ago, but our visit was anything but enjoyable. Our room was borderline filthy, and generally, everything seems neglected, tired, desperately needing deep cleaning, repair, or a full rehab.
Whether at the restaurant, the burger joint, or the beach bar, the food is simply terrible, and if that’s at all possible, the service is even worse. Most employees have that distinct look on their face that clearly tells you that they’d rather be anywhere else doing anything else. The very first time we sat at the restaurant, we waited 30 minutes without anyone coming by to greet us and offer menus. I finally went inside to talk to someone, wondering if we actually needed to order at the bar. I was told that someone would come out and… you guessed it, no one did. Waited another 20 minutes, went back inside, and… was told that all we can get is coffee, since by then they had closed for breakfast.
The next day we sat at the beach bar and ordered pizza. Not only did it taste worse that the frozen pizza you get at the grocery store, but it was so undercooked, the cheese hadn’t even melted and the dough tasted raw. I ate one slice and gave up. When we got the check and the waiter asks if I needed a box, I told him that I don’t need one, explaining why. There was no acknowledgment and you could tell that he gave zero sh*ts.
As I had already submitted some feedback, the F&B manager reached via email to invite us to give them another try but after two consecutive failures, I told her we’ll be better off eating off the property. And, I was right.
Separately, we booked through a third party OTA and we never consented to the property’s privacy policy. That didn’t prevent them from sharing my PII with at least three other partners, all sending emails within 25 hours of checking out. Multiple emails to the property went unanswered.
There seem to be plenty of guests who like this place, but unless your expectations are really low, spare yourself the disappointment and book elsewhere. There is nothing luxurious about this place.
Beautiful property with large ocean facing rooms and good size balcony. Along a long stretch of the coast with a small swimmable beach that could use some improvement. Numerous pools spread out. The marketplace was cute but limited. Very clean was self parking. High end prices, come prepared.
We had booked through Chase and we were supposed to receive priority for extra benefits like room upgrade and late checkout. The welcome amenity, 3 pieces of chocolate, was by far the worst compared to what other hotels offer. Even the water bottle offered to every guest was a nicer gesture. I understand some benefits are subject to availability but the hotel didn’t make efforts to try to accommodate us better. Upon check-in we were told we can choose between 3 rooms. I was taken to see the rooms and while I was on tour, one of the rooms became unavailable (disappointing) and we were told the wrong room so we walked in on an occupied room (awkward), and then had to go back to the front desk to confirm which took extra time. Upon checkout, we called in for late checkout and we were told the room is booked and the hotel is at 97% capacity. If that’s true, then the hotel should properly staff the hotel to accommodate with more cleaning staff. Mahina was the same issue. Almost every table was occupied when we arrived and the service and wait for the food was not a pleasant experience because the hotel was understaffed for the capacity. We had a nice stay overall, loved the hotel location and property and it was well maintained. However, the lack of accommodation with our benefits, which we paid extra for, left a bad taste and made us question whether we want to return. Will also note that we visited a week before holiday but we paid higher rates $ and would expect at least the same level of service/experience.
We love the views and Annie was great at the bar! She made me an Annie special that was so yummy. My tuna nachos were also to die for.
The resort is amazing and very well kept. There is so much to do! Couldn’t be happier with our room. The beach bar is a must hangout spot and Annie the bartender is the best bartender ever, so fun!
Was the perfect setting for getting three generations of our family (ranging in age from 3 to 67) together, particularly cousins who had not seen each other in many years. The restaurants, the Marketplace, the activities (including the availability of complimentary bicycles enabling us to go to other nearby establishments), and the hospitality of the staff were all top notch.
This is my second stay at Isla Bella in the past year. I would like take a moment to recognize the night auditor Jason B. who was incredidibly accommodating, personable, and helpful. I needed a bandaid at 5 a.m. and walked to the front desk for assistance. Jason didn’t only give me a bandaid, he answered many questions and gave helpful insights, and is an incredible asset to your organization. The staff at Isla Bella is top tier and the reason I returned for a second stay.
If you’re looking for a beautiful place this is the ultimate. It is the largest facility that I have seen in the Keys. I found that a little bit intimidating almost like I was in a huge apartment complex. There is actually no beach in front of the rooms although it is called a beachfront hotel. On one end of the property there is a beach that is carved out, probably about 100 feet wide. Our room was absolutely stunning and huge, with two bathrooms and a separate bedroom. I found the bed uncomfortable. I guess I was expecting hotel luxury pillows and bedding and a soft cushy mattress but that was not exactly the case which surprised me for such an expensive hotel. Please understand that everything you want to do is an extra charge and not at all cheap. If you’re looking to save money this is not where you want to go. This is an upscale property and everything is a la carte. They do not tell you when you check in that they rent jet skis or fishing boats or snorkeling trips or even bicycles that are available for your use. You don’t get a tour of the property when you check in you just have a QR code that does not actually give you much information . It was my last day of my stay when I found out that they had all of those things on the Property. There is a marketplace store that sells rather high-end clothing (they even have a Lululemon area in the store) and coffee and pastries. There is a beach bar and a high-end restaurant and a sushi restaurant right on the beach. Absolutely beautiful property and if that is your taste you’re going to love it here. Personally I like a smaller more cozy atmosphere. It looked like a really great property for a honeymoon or if you had a family and you wanted to be able to stay on the property your entire vacation.
Isla Bella is always a wonderful experience! The service was great and we loved the Sushi Bar with Adi, who is always smiling!
Isla Bella is one of the most beautiful and quaint resorts I have stayed at. The staff was absolutely wonderful from check in to check out. Tom, the chef, came to our table to ask how our food was.....which was fabulous! Amy our bartender took great care of us. She knew exactly what to serve us 60+ ladies visiting for a high school friends trip. The grounds of the resort were immaculate and the views are absolutely stunning. I would recommend Isla Bella to anyone needing a special getaway to get pampered!! Can't wait for the next visit.
What a lovely way to start a beautiful day in marathon. The setting is spectacular and Lynn was so understanding open inviting. She gave great direction and options and allowed for a gentle morning yoga under the palm trees, listening to the water lapping on the shore.
My fiancé and I decided to do a staycation at Isla Bella and now we're looking forward to come back again. The resort itself is great, we really enjoyed all the restaurants they have there and the beach bar had great drinks
This is the beach escape from the fast paced lifestyle we all live. We were treated with the upmost respect from the check in desk. Our room was stunning and upgrade upon check in. We used all the amenities. They have a plethora of activities around the resort and a schedule that is written out each day for guests to see. Everything was very clean and our bed was made up each day by staff. The only things I did not like were Breakfast Service at the restaurant was underwhelming, food was great but they didn't even check up on us until we asked for the bill. The other thing I didn't like was that we were charged to park on the Resort, this seems like something that should be included in the room rate considering the lot was almost empty.
A top notch resort. The buildings and grounds are quite beautiful. All rooms face the ocean which is great. Our suite on the second floor consisted of three spacious rooms: a kitchen/dining room/ living room combo, the bathroom , and the bedroom as well as a furnished balcony. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The pools are heated. The marketplace is very nice and contains a cafe, activities desk, clothing, and gifts. My only suggestion for the management is that they should install some clothes hooks in the bathroom for swimwear to dry out.
Location is really nice - only drawback is there is not the type of sand you would expect at a beach and nowhere to swim in the ocean (what they show in the pictures is very shallow).
Atmosphere was great and the bartender, Annie, made the experience fantastic. She really went above and beyond in making sure we were having a great time.
The rooms were very nice with beautiful views of the ocean.
Overall, great value for the trip.
The amenities were great with lots of fun games and activities. Definitely would recommend and cannot underscore enough how great the service was from Annie!
Great resort. Very clean, friendly staff, good food, fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommended Isla Bella.
