Very comfortable bijou hotel.
Pros:

Excellent location. Comfortable room with view. Very good breakfast. Very responsive staff.

Cons:

Cold room on arrival. But soon fixed. More info on operating heating and lighting in the room.

A good location and some nice touches but disappointing for the price.
Pros:

Great location. Some nice touches like complimentary soft drinks and snacks replenished daily.
Lovely staff and very, very clean. Excellent bathroom.
I hated the big, bouncy pillows but the housekeeper found me a replacement which was flatter and softer. Great service.

Cons:

The room was a bit small and cramped I think for what we were paying. ( not like the one in the picture!)
It was overheated and following consultation with the receptionist it seems the thermostats are for show and don’t really work. We had both windows open as far as they would go and this was in early May cool temperatures.
The lighting consisted of very bright main lights, some pointless ‘mood lighting’ but nothing at all which enabled one of us to go to sleep while the other one read a book.
Quite good breakfast but not in any way exceptional.

We loved our stay at the Halvard. Staff we great & very attentive. Our whole experience was wonderful.
Pros:

Everything. The room was spacious & immaculately clean. Very comfortable.

Cons:

The only thing we didn’t like was that we couldn’t stay longer.😊

If there were more choices, I'm not sure I would book this but it's good enough.

The breakfast was okay, enough choice just.

Cons:

The parking is not as advertised, there was quite a draft that blew all the way through the building and up the stairs. The lighting in the bedroom was a pain as was the heating.

Very happy to return
Pros:

This is a very good hotel and I would return again. Rooms are very comfortable and clean and staff are helpful and professional Catering is good. The shower works and the free mini bar is appreciated

Cons:

A lot of positives but a big negative at one level for parking. It is not a disaster. Judicious use of the 2 hour parking disc and the public car park made it workable. We stayed for 7 nights and only had to pay for parking once when we chose to leave the car in the car park all day

Pros:

Perfect location. Right next to town. We were very impressed with the room. Big and comfy bed, bathroom clean, free mini bar, and overall a great stay and a brilliant night of sleep.
