Beautiful converted spice factory, now am antique shop and boutique hotel on the river
There was a problem with our reserved room (a leak) so we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite (which I had wanted to book in the first place, but the missus told me not to be a poser). The suite was amazing. It would have only cost a few £s more than the sea view suite we had booked, but well, well worth the difference Don't hesitate to splash out. It's absolutely astounding and exceptionally good value. Enormous and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was very good with excellent coffee (something of a rarity in Kerala despite the nearby coffee plantations). We also had a lunch and that was very good too. I think the restaurant only gets a 4.1 rating on Google, which strikes me as a bit on the low side.
The rooftop pool area is a little run down and could do with an facelift. The pool was full of dead insects, but I guess that's always going to be a problem in this location.
Great personal touch from the staff
Nothing m
We loved the room it was huge and beautiful. The staff were amazing especially Martin. Nothing was too much trouble here. Just unbelievable
Loved all
Location was perfect and the room was comfortable.
Was disappointed that I didn't get a room with a balcony which I had expected based on the pictures I was shown when selecting my room.
Hot water in the room kept playing up. Food was mediocre. All in all I did not feel like I got value for money here especially when compared to other venues I had stayed at.
Idiosyncratic, beautiful, well located and welcoming
Nothing
Right in the middle of Jew Town but facing on to the water. Large, well equipped characterful room. The hotel is actually part of a vast antique shop and has bags of unique items and furniture scattered about. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant faces directly over the water with fabulous views across the harbour
The pool area was rather sketchy with only one umbrella and a few scattered loungers and chairs.
Huge room decorated tastefully. Lovely breakfast with nice restaurant staff.
The room was so dark with one tiny window and my room was over the street so very noisy all night. I also wouldn’t stay in Jew town as all the things to see are 10 minutes away in an auto. Stay closer to Princess street.
La beauté du lieu
les odeurs nauséabondes à l extérieur de l eau de la rivière devant le restaurant mais cet hôtel reste un lieu magique
Located by the back water its peace all around you
The lunch was not that great, it was not tasty and was over priced
A very luxurious hotel with a charming and friendly staff. The location is great for touring most of the city's main sites.
Very unique in terms of decoration, great mattress and location
I liked everything
