Undisclosed Construction, Poor Hygiene & Unacceptable Handling

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel.

Upon arrival late in the evening, we were only then informed (via a letter left in the room) that there were ongoing construction works directly below and around the hotel. This was not disclosed at any point prior to booking, which is unacceptable as it significantly impacted our stay due to noise and disruption.

In addition, the overall cleanliness of the hotel was far below an acceptable standard. The spa facilities in particular were extremely unhygienic, with a strong unpleasant smell and visibly poor maintenance. We did not feel comfortable using these facilities at all.

Another major issue was the room environment itself. If the balcony door was opened even briefly, the entire room would quickly fill with condensation. This did not just affect surfaces – everything became wet, including the entrance door, mirrors, and even our personal belongings, making the room extremely uncomfortable and unsuitable to stay in.

We raised these issues with staff, however the response was inadequate. We were advised that management was not available until the following day, which left us with no immediate resolution. As a result, we had no choice but to book another hotel at our own expense and leave.

Despite this, the hotel refused to refund one of the nights (14th) and relied on their policy, even though the circumstances were clearly not normal and were caused by issues outside of our control that were not disclosed in advance.

Finally, in our opinion, the location and overall setting of the hotel are not as good as expected. The beach view is significantly impacted by poorly maintained, rough grass landscaping, which detracts from the experience. There are better hotels in the area offering superior views and overall conditions for the same price or even less.

Overall, this experience caused unnecessary stress, additional cost, and disruption to our trip.
