The Hoxton, Holborn

Unfortunately, when we woke up on Saturday morning and opened our curtains, (we were on level 1) we witnessed a man sat in the car park sniffing and smoking drugs. This was for around an hour before we decided to leave our room early and check out because it was making us feel uneasy.
The man was looking directly into our room when administering these drugs and it was such an unpleasant sight to see. It was distressing to see and caused a lot of anxiety, especially as you could see the man deteriorating the more the consumed the drugs.
I did take photos and made hotel staff aware once we had checked out, one member of staff was shocked and asked me to send the photos via email, another brushed it off as ‘well this is London’
We weren’t looking for something from this but were not offered any sort of ‘gesture of good will’ at all which we felt was slightly disappointing.

J’ai réservé une chambre « cosy up » (18m2) mais elle ressemblait complètement à la description et aux photos de la chambre Cosy… lit très proche de la fenêtre et du mur, aucun espace avec un fauteuil ou un bureau comme décrit sur Booking ou sur le site de l’hôtel. La réception m’a confirmé qu’on m’avait bien attribué une Cosy up, donc je ne comprends pas comment une description en ligne peut être si mensongère. Je n’aurais pas payé plus cher pour avoir cette chambre si j’avais su qu’elle ressemblait autant à la gamme du dessous.
Aucune compensation ou geste commercial n’a été fait, on m’a simplement dit « que je n’étais pas la première cliente à faire ce retour ».

Par ailleurs la chambre donnait sur un grand mur très très proche et haut, pas très agréable sachant qu’en plus nous étions en plus au 5e étage.

Je suis un peu scandalisée par le prix payé pour ce niveau de chambre.

Tiny, tiny rooms with barely any amenities. Lackluster staff. Restaurant and cafe was barely mediocre. Housekeeping only on request. You can much, much better for your money.

Bit busy during the day as it seems to function as a coworking space - but in the upside that means you can get a good coffee at the bar!

The misunderstanding of my request when I came to the hotel they told me that I have two rooms and it took me long time to explain booking the problem and I till now I didn’t received any answer if booking fixed the problem

There was very little that I didn't like. The main thing was the bed. It was lumpy and kind of lopsided and slanted down towards the headboard area. We stuffed some of the nice decorative pillows under the "mattress" to help firm it up and create a more level line. I can assume it challenging to get nice big mattresses into tiny rooms, yes, but there are memory foam ones that unfurl on their own and could remedy this situation. I also didn't like hearing my neighbors have sex, but that's kind of expected.

Small - leaky shower

The bed felt like it really needs changing. It was very creaky and the mattress felt like it had been slept on too many times. The rooms was also so small and with 2 people it was way too cramped. No storage to speak off so nowhere to put anything and also the same in the bathroom with not a single shelf, just the sink
