The Mimaru is a fantastic place to stay
Pros:

This is the second time our family have stayed at a Mimaru in Tokyo. We loved the Ueno Inachario. The staff are friendly and helpful, the location is fabulous - quiet and super close to the train and the rooms are clean and spacious.

The staff was very good, and the location was not bad. We stayed in a quite spacious room, and the beds were very comfortable.

A good area to start your Tokyo/Japan journey
Pros:

Great location for transportation and walking to Ueno Park and main attractions like Senso-ji temple and nightlife at Ameyoko. Quiet neighborhood with many small restaurants. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

The bedroom area was smaller than it appeared in the photos.

Great stay but rooms are small
Pros:

This was the first hotel of our first ever trip to Japan for our family of 4. We had the family room and the kids enjoyed sleeping on the futons. Our bed was very firm. The room felt a little small with suitcases opened up and the tiny bathroom had limited storage space so we had to use the kitchen for putting toiletries and toothbrushes. Other than that it was super clean, AC worked well and the property was quiet with nice staff and convenient laundry room. No breakfast but the hotel a block away (Mystays) has a decent walk-in buffet. We enjoyed the location in a quiet residential neighborhood with Inaricho metro close by and Ueno station about 10 minutes away.

very well located hotel with excellent staff and value for money during the high season.
Pros:

it was very well located and easy to reach. the staff were very friendly and always eager to help us and gave us good suggestions. The room is rather spacious and the kitchen is a life saver.

Cons:

I think that some of the facilities within the room (like the sockets for USB charging and the table lamp) need repairs or replacement. WE did bring this to the notice of the staff and they were prompt to check and replace.
