I just wanted to say that this was one of the most serene and relaxing hotels I've been to, the garden was lovely, the food great and the service very personalable.
They also booked a boat ride to the islands that was also top notch. The food on the trip was amazing and unlike other boats that are annoying floating discos this trip was mercifully quiet and relaxing. If you are a solo lady traveler looking for an uncomplicated and low key but non-back packer vibe, this is your place. Finally for reference I went at the end of June, before high season so your milage may vary, lol.
The Arikanda had been on our radar for a while but due to the pandemic, this was the first time we could get here; it was definitely worth the wait! We arrived in the early hours and woke to a very different Arikanda to the one we were expecting! We soon discovered that most of the restaurant had been washed away a few days earlier during a short, violent storm. James assured us, however, that everything would soon be up and running and how right he was! The team cooked and served our breakfast and then during the day while we were out they put the Arikanda back together! This was the beginning of a wonderful holiday that will always have a very special place in our hearts. Firstly, James and his team are brilliant - we felt at home from the first morning. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had a great holiday. Secondly, the food - we ate a wonderful spread at breakfast and didn't eat again until the evening. We ate every meal at the Arikanda simply because it was faultless! Delicious, fresh food every day from a varied menu. Thirdly, the rooms are very simple which was fine for us. However, very importantly, the mattress was excellent. We had a fridge, tea/coffee making facility and our shower was always hot. We knew there was no pool but we had use of a beautiful pool over the road. We have been fortunate to visit Turkey quite a few times and stayed in bed and breakfasts in some beautiful locations with some great hosts but this was something different! The whole experience was unique and we would not have wanted to spend our 41st Wedding Anniversary anywhere else! We left the Arikanda looking even more lovely than it did before the storm. Thank you so much James and all the boys for a fantastic holiday and we really hope we can see you again soon!
Lovely hotel, comfortable rooms, great food. Relaxing environment and good location. Family owned and operated. And they speak English fairly well. So no language barriers for me. They were committed to providing great customer service always checking to make sure I had what I needed. Did I say great food? Some of the best food in Turkey. Portions were very large. Prices reasonable. Hotel sits on a beautiful river bank. River has ducks, small fish and gardens. The family offered recommendation for a boat tour that suited my family’s interests. Really offered great insider information on how to have the best experience while in Adrasan. I brought some work with me and was able to use their wifi for video calls when needed. Had a few issues with Internet but I never brought it up because I had backup and was not relying on the hotels wifi network. Overall I had a great experience at this hotel and will stay there again next time I am in Adrasan.
Arikanda River Garden Hotel is beautifully built over a river. The rooms are furnished properly and spotlessly clean. The food is excellent. The owners make the guests feel safe and the place a home away from home. Those are the qualities which make us to come back Adrasan every year.
What makes the Arikanda special is its magical location and the family who run the Hotel and restaurant that make it a special place where you would want to go back to again and again.
This year I meet up with 2 separate set of Brits who were back again from last year. Just speaks for itself. When most people walk over the bridge to the hotel you see the staff smile as they are usually welcoming back their known guests
I’ve been travelling to an from Adrasan for 20 years now and it has slowly changed. Now there is things like a proper road and cashpoints but it still has a proper heart and the biggest part of that heart is found at this hotel. The Ozturk family make you feel as your at your own home.
Simple hotel no frills but very clean and well turned out. Comfortable in any season. Summer and Autumn outdoors on pontoons eating dinner literally in the river ducks serenading you. Winter and spring in a cozy purpose built wood fire heated area.
Food is the very best you eat in the whole bay. James and the guys that run the restaurant are amazing. Ferat bakes Turkish bread and and Turkish pide in an amazing wood fired oven. Mezes home made daily that come with dinner almost spoil the excellent choice of main courses. So much choice since good quality and taste and such big portions. Breakfasts are the best I’ve ever had in Turkey.
In this current climate all care is taken for COVID measures as well.
Nothing is too much trouble arranging boat trips and seeing lots of other sights locally. You can either chill or walk or explore the surrounding areas.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants the personal touch and somewhere to have the most marvellous holiday ever.
Three years since I last reviewed this magical refuge and how wonderful to be able to say it's better than ever! Though not the most luxurious rooms in Adrasan, Arikanda's accommodation is more than adequate and I'm confident that it remains the best value in the resort - comfortable beds, good air con, efficient double-glazing , lovely balcony, small fridge. The food here throughout the day is authentic and superb, the tables placed on decking beside and over the river where ducks and terrapins abound. The weather is glorious, but there's plenty of shade. All would be for nothing, though, if the management and staff were not as brilliant as they are - welcoming and considerate, funny and friendly and always willing to "go the extra mile". Adrasan itself is changing and covid has sped the change this year - fewer Brits and Germans, more native Turks. Precautions against covid are taken impressively seriously both at Arikanda and throughout the resort. Standards of tidiness and of road management in the resort have improved in the last three years but the magic of the beach - pebbly at the Arikanda end, sandy on the main drag - and of the many small hotels and restauarants remains undimmed. Wonderful days.
The main feature of this hotel is that it is located straddling a charming river full of ducks. The hotel rooms are quite basic but the dining area is sitting on platforms above the water of the river are charming and the food was good. We had a particularly good breakfast there. It is a short walk to the huge beach where I went for a morning swim which was wonderful.
It is typically Turkish but has a degree of charm that is amusing and I would recommend it.
Arikanda tends to get top billing in Adrasan and it's not hard to see why. Adrasan itself is a tiny beach resort with a few hotels on the beach, where I've stayed in the past. Out of season they are all closed and the beach full of pleasure boats in dry dock waiting for repair - a strange sight in itself. To the north of the beach a small stream flows prettily to the sea. About 200 hundred yards upstream you will see a little footbridge leading to the Arikanda. It's a lovely friendly place run by three brothers. They speak good English and as so often in Turkey are helpful and obliging in just the right way. The evening meal we had was good and our room was nice and quiet. It's so sweet! Docks swim about in the stream - there's the constant sound of flowing water (a little tributary runs into the main river over a little weir - Simple but cracking.
It is testament to the magic that James, Vahit and their amazing family (and ducks!) create at the “Arikanda”, that we returned for the umpteenth time this year accompanied by a large group of friends and family to celebrate my 60th birthday. James, Vahit, Akif and team pulled out all the stops to give us a fantastic holiday. As always nothing was too much trouble, the food was superb and the service exceptional. We only had to mention a place we wanted to visit and transport would be arranged. We had a lot of fun and it made my birthday very special and unforgettable (especially those birthday cake pyrotechnics!) thank you so much all of you for your efforts. We never tire of this place, it feels like a second home to us now. We will continue to return for many years to come.
Loved it ! Along the river, with lost of ducks and cats, a very nice atmosphere !
The owner and staff are very welcoming and dedicated. Rooms are spaceful enough, this place is a really good choice for relaxing on the beach or hiking in the mountains, the owner knows all the hikes :)
I’ve been coming to Adrasan for 20 years and it’s a part of Turkey 🇹🇷 still that remains unspoilt. This is my 2nd time staying at the hotel and I cannot highly recommend enough. Run by 3 brothers Vahit, ‘James’ and Akif the hotel has been in their hands for 10 years. A small 10 bed hotel with an incredible restaurant attached that sits on the river. Dinner is taken sitting in pontoons with the ducks fussing around, it’s a perfect setting. 10 minutes walk from the beach 15 minutes from other restaurants so a perfect location. Good size rooms with tea and coffee making facilities and fridge. Perfect for a family a a good size double bed and single bed. Good size bathroom Turkish wet room style. Food it’s incredible bread from a proper bread oven is a wonderful start with home made meze with a great option of main course. Transfers from airport can be arranged as can trips to local beauty spots Cirali, Olympus and Arikanda. Boat trips from the bay are wonderful value for money. On the Lycian way perfect venue for walkers all through they year. I will be coming back next year and booking early to avoid disappointment as people coming back year after year. A do not miss!
fabulous stay as always. Fantastic food and great staff it is like being part of the family they cannot do enough for you. Ready to book again. A big thank you to everyone for a lovely holiday as always. Karl and Claire
This was our 6.th stay in Arikanda. We have come with a family of 2 and up to 10 persons, and always been welcomed as old friends.
Arikanda is a lovely, relaxed little hotel by the river, and direct on the Lycian way. 5 minutes walk to the beach. It is run by a family of very friendly members who will do anything to make you feel home. Rooms are clean, the food is superb.
We felt so much welcomed from the moment we step foot in Arikanda ! From the beginning to the end of our 4 nights stay, James, Akif and all the family were available for any request and coming to chat and advise when necessary. The setup is just fantastic for letting everything go and have a restful tea on the breezy river. Just a stone throw away from the beach with a cool breeze to pass the hottest hours, the location was perfect. Food was also the best we had around Adrasan and the leftovers made ducks and eels very happy on the stream. Thank you so much guys for a fantastic stay, we will be back for sure !!! Anna and Jason.
We visited at the beginning of our whistlestop tour of Antalya to Kalkan & rebooked for our final night as we loved it so much. Lazing on the cushions on the platforms over the river, fantastic Turkish food & the most amazing Turkish breakfast. The children loved being able to paddle in the river & the swing seat & hammock were a big hit. We were made to feel very welcome & would happily return for longer. Highly recommended as a relaxing getaway.
We spend at river hotel three nights. Our plan was only to stay two night but we fell in love with the place and extended. It is really lovely, you can spend there hours at the nice terrace. We had long breakfasts at the terrace, went hiking, had delicious dinner and spend the evening at the terrace playing cards and getting some turkish lessons :) It is a calm, relaxing and unique atmosphere. The staff is really very friendly and you feel like home. We will come again to this lovely place!Tesekkürler, Napoleon and Barbara
Just returned from this lovely friendly little Hotel, having spent three week there , James and Nash so helpful , food excellent , Miss my delicious fresh oranges 🍊 that I had every morning , thank you we will see you in May .
We love to travel and explore new places but we always feel the need to return to this hotel. After home it's our favourite place and the perfect place to chill out. James and his family always go the extra mile to ensure that our every need is met. The food is wonderful and served by the ever cheerful and friendly waiters. James will arrange transport for day trips if required, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are cleaned as often as you like (as long as you remember to hand in your key!). Reyhan has turned arranging towels and flowers into an art form! The river setting is delightful with it's busy ducks and plethora of other wildlife, in fact it is all quite enchanting, it is always hard to tear ourselves away to go home. James and family make every guest feel very welcome and part of the family. This really is a very special place.
This hotel definitely caters for a certain type of guest..Friendly family run with their guest as no1 priority, beautiful location on a river, with the best food we’ve ever had in Turkey. The rooms whist typically Turkish are lovely and comfortable, wonderfully quiet with only the odd quack of ducks to be heard. Too quiet for some perhaps but for us the ideal escape!!
A beautiful little hotel with the most gorgeous river garden. We stayed there overnight when passing through. It was my sons 16th birthday and the staff were so lovely, getting him a cake and presenting him with it. The hotel is surrounded by wildlife and the food is incredible and very reasonably priced. My daughter loved the swing and hammock, we had the little family apartment which was very spacious, comfortable and quiet. I’d highly recommend.
