Malee's Nature Lovers Bungalows

Comfortable and homely stay. Malee is a wonderful host and very helpful. Beautiful gardens and mountain views, delicious home cooked breakfast. We enjoyed our day trip to the waterfall and temple, and had the best chinese gyoza for lunch. Would love to stay again.

At Malee's great bungalow for any true nature lovers. Great sun deck area for mediation or yoga I was surrounded by beautiful mountain views , fresh clean air and hearing the wonderful sounds of animals and creatures in their natural habitat. My bungalow was just perfect. I wouldn't change anything as it has it own unique style. Loved my stay there.

I am a bird watcher and there were some great birds here and at the nearby monastery. It is a great location for birders!

I've stayed at Malee's a couple of times and enjoyed it in the past, so thought I stay sgain after a gap of 15 years or so. Its a great place to base yourself if you're into birds and nature, the main temple with its 510 steps within walking distance. There is limited parking available. Malee and Kurt are nice people, very friendly and keep the place looking nice. The house and bungalows are wooden, rustic-looking buildings, all wood inside. A bit dated in places but the bed was comfortable enough and it was very quiet at night. Malee does provide a breakfast and you can chose from six set menus but can't mix them, which I found a bit strange. I'd have liked muesli before my eggs but couldn't, so I think a more flexible approach would be better. The rooms have two water bottles provided and there's a kettle and tea/coffee, but there's no A/c or TV in the room and no laundry service or evening meal. I ate locally and visited a new laundrette in Chiang Dao. It's a pleasant place to stay, has mature gardens and is well situated but there are more modern places nearby if that is your preference.

Ein Homestay, in dem man sich wirklich wie zuhause fühlt. Malee und Kurt sind tolle Gastgeber, der Garten ist wunderschön und ruhig, und die zwei Hauptsehenswürdigkeiten (Tempel Wat Tham Pha Plong und die Höhle) sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Malee backt tolles Brot und Kurt hat uns seine beeindruckende 3D-Orchideen-Fotosammlung gezeigt. Außerdem hatte ich direkt in meinem Bungalow eine tolle Massage und habe bei Malee Honig und Tiger Balm gekauft. Ich wäre hier gerne noch länger geblieben!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful location, based in the heart of the forest and mountains. Malee and Kurt were lovely hosts and shared their expert knowledge about local nature and botany with us.

We really enjoyed our four night stay. Malee and Kurt were very kind and helpful. The bungalows are quite basic, but that was fine for us. They are in a jungle-like setting. Although it was the rainy season, we also had some (almost) dry days. Keep in mind that the nearby Doi Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary is only open for three months of the year.

Shower should have a bit more pressure.

For a birder looking to explore the area, this accommodation is ideal.

Immersed in nature. Bathroom had entry points for cockroaches. I had to kill one. It is expected being in full nature. Owners were extremely pleasant and provided 5-star service.

We had the best stay at Malee’s!! My partner and I are birders, so our goal was to do lots of birding in the area. The birding around there is amazing, we saw and heard so much from the property and the road nearby. Malee also set us up with a driver to take us up into the park and look for some high elevation birds. The breakfast is also delicious. Malee is seriously the best host. She is so kind and helpful and we loved staying there - we will be back! The dogs are also very cute! What a great stay.

The garden and Pavillion area is not not well maintain. It would be nice to be able to sit and stargaze.

This property is in a great area, with lovely staff. Cleaness was high for what you would expect in area around this property.

Good hostess in Malee and friendly staff. Bit worn but clean. We were there for birds but not so good now.

Had a great stay here. The owners are lovely people that speak excellent English which was helpful. Off the beaten path, Prime location for exploring the area. Scooter for rent on site. The flowers and orchid gardens are amazing, and provided a perfect setting to enjoy delicious coffee and homemade toast and jam. Cave bar nearby was inviting and helpful and also had good food. Also coffee from Chai cafe is worth a look. Overall great town with a lively market on Tuesday morning. Beautiful and interesting temples and the Japanese style Hotspring was an early morning delight. Would stay here again.

Cute cottages near a good cave. We found hiking conditions on the nature trail difficult due to very slippery conditions after some recent rain. Found some good nearby restaurants and cafes.
