Would like to see more choices of fresh Croatian fruits less from the cans. More real Croatian bakery. Less western kind of food.

Will stay there again

This is a strange looking hotel, almost like it is former student housing. Our room was a good size with good air conditioning and a large bathroom. Our room and the hotel public areas were quite clean. There was no outside noise in our room, but noise from adjoining rooms was very disturbing. Breakfast was good, plenty of options. The bar is dreadful. The area is great, a huge number of bars, restaurants and cafes, and plenty of sightseeing nearby.

Excellent location

Rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Breakfast was amazing.

Hotel was amazing from check in to check out. Since we missed breakfast they gave each of us a lunch bag that had plenty food for everyone. Room was clean. Quiet and staff was amazing.

IT was ok

We booked a junior suite for 2 adults and 2 children. The rooms were large and the bathroom was huge with a large jacuzzi tub with jets and colored lights that the kids loved! Breakfast had lots of delicious options. Hotel is on a walking street lined with tons of cute restaurants and shops.

The hotel was convenient to lots of dining options and was in a great location. The front desk staff were so helpful. The underground parking was great. The hotel needs a major renovation. Everything looked old. The AC was spotty and the room was warm. The breakfast was decent but nowhere near as good as the ones we had in Dubrovnik and Split.

Very nice hotel in a great location

There are good things and bad things about the Academia. I stayed for 3 nights but would have left after first except that I’d prepaid and couldn’t get my money back. The biggest negative issue is that WiFi is abysmal. It works on the main floor, but on the 3rd floor (where my room was) the WiFi was intermittent and weak. I couldn’t get any work done and eventually gave up. The 2nd problem was that my room was boiling hot. The thermostat in the room didn’t work, and I had to go to the front desk to ask them to lower the temperature. I ended up sleeping with the window open even though my room was on a busy street. On the positive side, the breakfast is excellent.
