A hidden gem!
Pros:

We highly recommend the Merrion Row Hotel! As first-time visitors to New York City, we took a chance booking this boutique hotel on 45th Street, and it exceeded every expectation.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay easy and comfortable. Our room was charming, cozy, spotless, and surprisingly quiet—such a peaceful retreat after busy days exploring the city.

We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant downstairs twice, and it was excellent each time. Housekeeping was attentive, our room was always refreshed, and whenever we needed extra towels, they were delivered promptly.

One of the things we appreciated most was the exceptional hospitality. After we checked out, the staff graciously stored our luggage so we could enjoy a few more hours in the city before heading home, making our last day completely stress-free.

If you’re looking for a hotel with outstanding service, a unique boutique feel, and a fantastic location, the Merrion Row is a true gem. We would absolutely stay here again and would choose it over a large chain hotel any day. Thank you for making our first trip to NYC so memorable!

A change from the big chain hotels
Pros:

Couldn’t be happier , we actually booked in next door at the Hyatt central but when we arrived they had double booked us so we were effectively shown the door (I did get the money back) whilst standing in the street with nowhere to go we seen Merrion , we called in and they had availability and checked us in, what a lovely little hotel, food was lovely , room was clean and very nice the staff are all super friendly and it was more than reasonable . Having stayed at a few hotels in NYC this is definitely the best and I’m pleased we were double booked next door and we will definitely be back and recommend to friends

Convenient location, clean, but noisy rooms and small.
Pros:

Super convenient location to the subway station entrances and Times square!

Cons:

Just an FYI - the windows are not double pane or insulated so if you face the street you will hear noise all night from the bar next door and just general traffic. We ended up getting an upgraded room and happy we did because the regular size rooms are shoe boxes! So small and crammed for the value.

Fantastic Irish hospitality in the heart of New York
Pros:

We recently stayed at the Merrion Row Hotel and Public House and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt warm, welcoming, and genuinely Irish in its hospitality.

We were fortunate enough to meet the owner, Bernie, and it was clear that the friendly atmosphere starts from the top. A special mention must go to Shona, who was absolutely fantastic throughout our stay. She and her team went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting, laughing, and starting each day with them.

The breakfasts were excellent. In fact, during our four-night stay we made it our mission to try as much of the breakfast menu as possible and very nearly completed it! Every breakfast was superb and set us up perfectly for a day exploring the city.

Having the hotel linked to Connolly’s Pub & Restaurant was a real bonus. It was a great place for the craic, with a brilliant atmosphere and plenty of Irish charm.

The location on 45th Street is superb—right in the heart of the action and within easy walking distance of so many of New York’s attractions. The hotel itself is small, comfortable, and full of character.

Shona and her team genuinely made our trip to New York even better. Their warmth, humour, and hospitality made us feel like old friends rather than guests. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, perfectly located hotel with outstanding hospitality.

5/5 – We’ll definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Quaint and Beautiful
Pros:

A beautiful hotel, conveniently located to the financial district, subway and Times Square. Bar was nice. Manager was very hospitable and accommodating. Room was beautiful and clean. Would highly recommend.
