Even without the pool it was a very nice place to stay
Pros:

Location was great

Cons:

Chose this hotel because it had a pool. When we got there the pool was closed!Had been closed all season and wasn’t going to open up at all. That should have been disclosed in the advertisements of the hotel. Very disappointed. However everything was great clean and staff was great

Pros:

Close to the beach. Chairs, umbrella provided. Bed fairly comfortable. Clean.

Pros:

We have been here before, always clean and comfortable with kind, helpful staff. Location is perfect. Not having the pool open was a bummer, was not aware of this prior to arrival

Comfortable but dated
Pros:

The location and views are great, it’s right on the beach so you can’t beat that. We saw whales breaching from the hotel which was very special.
The rooms were clean and cleaned daily. Beds comfortable.

Cons:

The hotel is very dated although this gives it a local charm, the reception is fusty and dated and could do with some declutterring of the plastic flowers. Our room was missing a bedside table, so after asking for one, we were given a bar stool, which worked ok, but then we were told to return it to reception on checking out-odd!
The swimming pool was closed, and although it’s not advertised as having one on booking.com, it is shown on google when you search, so we found this misleading.
There are only sheer curtains in the bedroom, given the size and aspect of the sea view windows- if you prefer not to be woken at sunrise, this is perhaps not the place for you.

The Mayfair Hotel is just right
Pros:

We had a lovely time at the Mayfair! Street parking was reasonably easy, despite large numbers of people on the beach. The AC in the room was perfect, but getting to the room up the HOT stairs proved to be a bit daunting. I got my steps in, though! Everyone who worked there was kind and informative, and we loved being to close to the ocean.

No elevator...hot stairs

Never going back.

Cons:

Theres no parking available, no elevator so if you are at the top carry light. Our door had a 2 inch gap at the bottom so others can hear everything. The beds were uncomfortable, head board is not even attached to anything. For that price there should be something included, the pool was not even filled and was told “it wont be for a while”. I get the beach is across the street, but you still have to pay to go in. So there is literally nothing included. I think for a hotel it needs a-lot of upgrades, such has HVAC work, elevator, and most importantly the pool.

Happy We Got to Experience this Hotel
Pros:

This is a well maintained but old hotel--a throwback to the days when vacationers escaped the city heat to enjoy the beach and ocean breezes. The reception area and bathrooms in the rooms have bee updated. The internet worked well. Be aware that there is no elevator and only room air conditioners. The location is outstanding--right across from the beach. Could not have been more desirable. Rooms are small as is to be expected in a turn of the century (20th) hotel. Building has been owned by the same family since 1929.

Cons:

Since it does not have an elevator it would not be a good choice for anyone with mobility issues
