Old building with small bathroom, could barely reach toilet flusher, tub very small, poor lighting, to be expected in older building but be aware if this is an issue, maybe why there was hair in the tub, and looked like lotion had been previously used. Convenient location but we were warned to lock our car, to be expected, felt safe inside. There was no disclosure regarding newly enacted parking fee and there will be no negotiation or break in the fee and can not cancel reservation. Understand hotels position but they should also contact Expedia to update the website. Overheard multiple conversations at desk regarding unexpected parking fee
The lady at the front desk was extremely pleasant. My complaint is more about the room. All other areas in the hotel were clean and orderly.
We do have dogs (dachshunds) and that’s a 20$ charge for each. That’s way affordable compared to other places. The room was the first floor and that too was nice when traveling with dogs. Upon entering our room it had a smell of urine. Possibly other dogs but it had me questioning the cleanliness. My suspicions were confirmed when I found a men’s sock in the floor at the edge of the bed. There were sunflower seed husks as well. The hair dryer was missing. It was extremely humid in the room to the point that the carpet felt wet. The mattress was sooo hard that I kept waking up with my hips killing me. I only slept a couple of hours bc of the discomfort. Breakfast is included. We woke just as it started and the food was non existent. I ended up getting cereal and a yogurt but there were no spoons. I asked the front desk and the response was that they were out of spoons. I ate both with a fork. Again, could’ve ended up alot worse and the room condition could’ve just been bad luck. There’s also a 20$ parking charge that was a surprise as I didn’t see it in the hotel details.
Very quiet and centrally located.
There needs too be a protocol about who is allowed to have a key. Please check id. And make sure the add on to a room is correct
Very clean and upgraded
This place was absolutely horrible it had no air condition no coffee no change no TV credit card machine doesn't work horrible don't stay
Neat place.
The rooms were spacious and we had a full kitchen with a regular sized refrigerator and microwave. I liked having my bed in a separate area so that I could ignore my husband’s snoring!
Really nice little hotel. If you’re a smoker tho no one cleans the ash trays out. The breakfast coffee machine was also broken. They do have little coffee pots in the room but only give you the little round prepackaged good for one cup coffee grinds. But a small can and small filters. Full size fridge was nice but it only held our creamer. The separation of beds by rooms was nice.
They charge 20 dollars a night for parking. I smoked in my car came back in to gather my things for check out and when I went to get my cash deposit they claim the room smelled like smoke and kept my 100 dollar deposit ! Not only that I was due a refund for a extra day on my reservation that I no longer wanted, that they never processed because the full amount posted on my bank account then when I left they tried running my card for 200 dollars! This place is highway robbery worst experience ever not worth the money they didn't even have a decent breakfast selection the juice machine was broke ! HORRIBLE i never want to book another quality inn again this experience has definitely frayed me of the thought! Good luck to all…
First time in KC - watching the big game. Very quick to check in when we got in at 2am. Nice spacious room and a very good price on a busy weekend. Good location too. Not fancy but we’re not fancy until we get to the Super Bowl then we’ll strut our stuff.
We checked in and the process took a good 10minutes. We got to our room and there were dirty towels in the sink, no fridge and the layout meant someone had to go through the second room to use the bathroom.
Asked for an extra cover got a sheet. Toilet moved while using it ,and roach on the wall as we were leaving .
Decent hotel especially for the cost. Well within walking distance for a show at the uptown theater.
they ran out of forks on saturday and hadnt replinished them. The A/C in the room would not cool down. Guess due to the age of the system.
The renovation of the hotel is not bad bjt the upkeep is a bit questionable. Despite having kitchenette there is no cooking tools whatsoever. It was a comfortable stay with decent breakfast.
The best
Took a $100 deposit even though already had credit card. Undisclosed $20 per day parking fee. Only one vent providing heat to four rooms. There was no service or even trash removal during entire stay. Only one dim table lamp in bedroom. One television was missing. No utensils in kitchen.
Very nice historical building for a hotel. Rooms are very nice and cozy! Highly recommend!!!
Proximity to where we needed to be for this trip was absolutely the only benefit to staying here. Property seemed to be an old rehabbed building that was “turned into” a hotel. Upon check in, we were informed of a parking fee that we were unaware of. Nowhere in the description when I was booking the room did it mention that, unless I missed it. When we went to leave, the door handle malfunctioned and we literally could not get out of our room. I understand that things happen, but this was hands down the worst “hotel” stay I’ve ever had; and I have been traveling for 30 years.
