wifi was weak but upgraded recently & now good!
view totally blocked by oppo building!
air-con is too near the bad!
no shampoo but soap only!

Very good hospitality and helpful staff

Been informed to reception before that we gonna check in very late night. Once we arrived at the hotel , an old guy (maybe the reception night shift) took my IC and checked in their system . Told the guy that we coming late n already informed . After almost 5 minute standing waiting he typing very slow n i told again that we already book but coming late , then he suddenly stop typing n gve the key to us. The hotel is very old and i think the hotel need more young staff working at night for safety purpose. Overall , room is ok

It was good. The hotel is in the middle of town, near to almost everything. The room is so so, all basic needs fulfilled.

We choose to stay here again and got a nice, spacious room. So there'll be many reviews about K.T. Mutiara on my previous stay which happens in a short distance of time. ( Seems like not many people review this hotel :P ) Receptionist upon check-in is quite friendly this time. Room is clean and spacious which give us a lot of space and that's the good part. Equipped with built in wooden cabinets on the wall which adds up to its interior design and is very useful to keep our belongings. Bathroom is clean, just need to add a water pipe and put a pail as not many like to use the shower head. Every Friday night they have a night market and we can buy foods there by walking distance but the bad part is when there's many people singing at the karaoke. It's a pain in our ears and we have hard time falling asleep soundly and peacefully because of that! That's so annoying and is a turndown for us. We can hear it clearly even when we saw the windows is closed shut. They should put a noise blocker only then it won't disturb guests resting time. When there's no night market we can have a soundless night. We're travellers travelling from far sometimes and we really need that good night sleep to rest ourselves seriously so this has been an issue if we happen to arrive at K.Terengganu on Friday. :/ We like the hotel for its cleanliness, spaciousness and for it's near attraction places but the noises is disturbing us at night so if the management read this, please do something about that. Without the noises it could be the first choice for our next trip to K.T. town. Until then, we might choose other options if we're there on Friday. Other than that, it's a good and compatible place to stay for my family.

It's a well situated hotel. The staff is very friendly. It is quite old but quiet, comfortable, clean with windows, air cond and hot water. Laundry may be done there. No breakfast.

Omg! This hotel needs to do something. The room totally dusty and bad. Also the toilet quite scary.

Frankly, I'm not happy stayed there.
I have no choice at that time, the other hotel fully booked grrr. Plus their receptionist also not friendly.

This time it's easy to park in front of K.T. Mutiara (no night market) for check-in and the process is fast. After that, the car have to be parked at the back as it's free there. But one thing that is a hassle to us is its one way road so if we've found the hotel from far we need to find another road if you come from Batu Buruk Beach. (Can't enter straight away from this location). So does if we passed this hotel we have to make a turnaround on the big road (We can't enter through the multilevel parking lot to reach it anymore now which is quite difficult). If they can improve on that then it's better. Would like to give more credits but the time taken to find a proper road to this hotel is a turndown for us. But room is clean with tv, air conditioning, teabags, kettle and other basic amenities. Bathroom is clean and bed is comfortable enough and the room is spacious for us which is a good thing! Overall, it's a decent stay and maybe we'll be back. :)

We choose this hotel for it's a comfortable stay for us last year besides it was near Pasar Payang and other night market. But we had a problem reaching or getting to this hotel as there was a new night market in front of the hotel and they blocked the road leading to it and we have to make a numbers of drive around the hotel to find an entrance and after a few times only we got a parking for temporary near the hawkers stall and walk here for check-in. :P We have to go back to our car and park it behind the hotel as it was hotel guests parking there and it's free. It was raining heavily at that time and it was very inconvenience for my husband to take our luggage from the car in this weather condition. :/ If it's not because of that night market, we could just park in front of the hotel and that would be much easier, hassle free. We book a quite big room with TV, mini fridge and a wood cabinet with big mirror which is nice and it adds the interior but once again, the noise from people singing karaoke at the night market is annoying. :P Thankfully it stopped and we sleep peacefully. The bathroom is clean and the bed is comfortable and it was a nice stay and it'd be much better without the problem mentioned before. We like this hotel as it suits my family and perhaps if there was an easy way to get here with the new night market in the middle of the road in front of K.T. maybe it won't be a problem at all for us to stay here again. :)

For MYR98 @3 single beds, near Tabung Haji and UMNO office it is OK. No free wifi although we were told there was one(too many people used it?).
There is a new and nice restaurant nearby though, Matt Café.
There is a small Friday night market along the street in front of the hotel where I bought cheap petai(MYR2 per bunch).

Got a room on the top floor, luckily there's lift. Walking distance from bus terminal, banks & Chinatown (1km). Allowed me to extend check out till 1pm which is great for me because I don't have to wait long at the bus terminal. Old wardrobe, powerful shower, clean towel and bedsheet. Good enough for me.

In the limited landscape of hotel options in KT, this is a decent back up option for a stopover on the way to/from the islands. It's a 5 minutes walk to the bus station and 15+ minutes to the ferry jetty. Stayed in a basic double for 80 RM.

Pros
- Close to bus station and ferry jetty
- Inexpensive

Cons
- Not very clean. Sheets had hair on them. Dirty bathroom. Room smelled. Overall outdated feel to hotel.
- Wifi was not working

Stay here only if you don't have other options. I would recommend staying at KT Chinatown Lodge instead in similar price range, better location and overall hotel condition.

This place very well located, walking distance from the busstation and the city center or chinatown.
The hotel looks old and tired but is clean and quiet.
The staff was very friendly.
This place is very good for if you´re traveling on a budget.

The hotel cannot be faulted for value and location. It is centrally placed and an easy walk from the bus station and numerous shops and restaurants are also nearby. However we found the room verging on the basic and looking tired. In particular it was necessary to run the water for ten minutes before it became hot. We only found this out after being advised to let it run for this long by a member of staff and suspect many will have bathed in cold water.

Quite clean, cozy, and the service is good. The price is affordable and reasonable. Got free parking. only distance away from banks. easy to go anywhere as it is at the centre of the KT town. definitely ideal for family or friends.

Family vacation and we choose to stay in family room (5adults).
Just check out yesterday, 29.9.2014.
Clean, spacious, comfortable and worth for money.
Will stay here again, if I come to Kuala Terengganu next time.

It was a nice and comfortable stay for us and it is strategically located in the middle of town.It's near a small food court on its right if you're standing inside the hotel facing Maybank and just a few minutes drive to Syahbandar jetty,Pasar Payang, Crafts complex in front of Pasar Payang and other attraction nearby.The room is spacious,clean and it has a pretty good wood cabinet build up on the wall and it was a very big one for us and there's plenty of space to keep your baggages.All in all this hotel room is popular among tourists maybe because of its hotel room,spacious and comfortable!There's an elevator for guests to use so it's friendly for the elderly. :) Reception staff is friendly too and helpful.It's a nice comfortable stay for us and we would be staying here again in the future! :)

Likes:
1. Location: very near to major banks, and the heart of KT city. We love the distance to Chinatown.
2. Spacious room: We were 5 adults sharing a family room. The room space is ample for us.

Dislikes:
1. Front-desk service could be better and friendlier. We weren't told about the Wi-Fi availability so we didn't know whether it's free or otherwise.
2. No complimentary drinks, tea and coffee inside the room.
3. No automatic water heater. You need to adjust the water manually.

The hotel staffs were very helpful and attended to our needs promptly, free wifi, big room with hot and cold showers. The room was very clean and housekeeping replaced our bedsheets everyday. located right in the town with easy access to Restaurants, Supermarkets and main Bazaar.
