perfect for family stay. Nice to have a bit more space compared to standard Japanese hotel rooms. Staff was very friendly and convenient to get a taxi and the family mart next door. No luxury but perfect for our stay.
More hooks in the room and bathroom would be convenient
I dont usually write reviews but the team here were so amazing they went above and beyond to help us when my wife had a medical issue and I can't thank them enough. Everything about this hotel was amazing from the location to the room and facilities.

Good location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mimaru Kyoto Shinmachi Sanjo. The location was excellent—close to public transport, great restaurants, convenience stores, and many of Kyoto’s attractions, while still being in a quiet and peaceful area.
The apartment was clean, comfortable, and generously sized for Japan. As a family of four (2 adults and 2 children aged 11 and 7), we had enough space to relax after busy days of sightseeing. The beds were very comfortable, and the facilities had everything we needed for our stay.
One feature we particularly loved was Mimaru’s luggage delivery service. We were able to have our luggage delivered from Kyoto to our next hotel in Osaka on the same day, and it was more affordable than Yamato. It made travelling between cities incredibly easy and allowed us to make the most of our day without carrying luggage around.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and we would happily stay here again on a future visit to Kyoto.
Lovely neighborhood, not to far from the subway or Family Mart plus many restaurants and shops nearby. We had a delicious pizza dinner just around the corner. Our room was clean and the most spacious of all our hotels for our family vacation with 2 teens. I loved being able to wash AND dry our clothes & they even provided the detergent. The front desk helped arrange a taxi for us and even helped me figure out how to purchase Shinkansen tickets on my phone. Also they provided a pitcher for filtered water to enjoy in our room.

This is my second stay at this location. I would highly recommend it. I love the location. So close to everything you want to see. The staff is great and I love the room. It’s great for a family and the laundry in the room is so helpful.

Excellent location and staff. Very comfortable for a longer stay, especially if traveling with children.
Our room had security glass (frosted) looking out onto an alley. I would have booked a different room had I understood that (so definitely check if being able to look out the window is important to you).
