Quiet location a bit out of the city centre (but easily accessible by bus); comfortable rooms; good breakfast; quirky decor. Would stay again.
Quirky design and layout
The room was very warm!
Nice design, good location, 30 min walk to the city centre. Good breakfast, parking included
The hotel is located in a very quiet and peaceful area, which we really liked. It’s about a 25-minute walk to the city centre, and there is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel with buses going into town, which was very convenient. The hotel also offers parking for £15 per night, which was a nice option.
The entrance and lobby area have a really lovely atmosphere and give a nice vintage, characterful first impression. However, this feeling didn’t really continue in the room we stayed in. In the photos online, the rooms looked more nostalgic with paintings and vintage decor, but our room felt quite modern and a bit plain in comparison. There were also some scratched and marked areas on the walls, which made the room feel a little poorly maintained. Overall, the cleanliness and the room itself were average. The location and quiet surroundings are definitely positives, but the rooms could benefit from a bit more maintenance and better consistency with the photos shown online.
A boutique feel for sure, well designed interiors.
Good breakfast, very reasonable. Location was super handy for either jumping on a bus literally outside, taking you straight down one road into the centre. Great for using a scooter too. We enjoyed Summertown as an area – nice shops etc.
Although our bed was a good size it was very squeaky when doing the slightest of movements – so not ideal when sharing a bed. Very soft mattress (fine for some perhaps).
The bathroom wasn't great, lots of dark mold on the sealants in the shower. Bathroom overall needed updating. Ours any way, I can't speak for other rooms. The toilet was very close to the shower screen which meant you would struggle for space when sitting on the toilet, literally head right near the glass.
There was a fusty smell especially in the room, I appreciate its an old building so it's not easy to keep it as fresh as they'd like.
I'd perhaps say more like a 3.5 star hotel (if that was an option).
Was a sublime stay when I arrived Mateus at the desk was very helpful Indeed me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the stay with no problems or faults would highly recommend
