It was an old English style, so we experienced the rest under this lens. And we enjoyed every moment.
we didnt have breakfast there, it was all very good.
We stayed for two nights in September (paying £359). During the second half of our stay, there was complete lack of hot water, meaning we could not shower before leaving. On-site staff offered no resolution or alternative room.
Furthermore, the room was poorly maintained: visible mould in the bathroom, damaged walls, non-working light fixtures, and a blocked sink that wasn't properly fixed despite reporting it.
When raised with management, their only response was an offer of 20% off a future booking, requiring us to spend more money with them rather than addressing the basic service failures of our stay. Very disappointing value for money and poor accountability.
Quirky decor and good mix of modern and classic design in the bathrooms.
Breakfast was great but far too early, and then you feel rushed to leave when close to the ending time and staff (particularly one older gentleman) became rather passive aggressive. I also asked for a bottle of bubbly for the room and to be ready for me coming back but it wasn’t so ruined the surprise when I had to go out and collect it myself.

I didnt realise it was an additional £15.00 to park at the hotel. Seems ridiculous to charge for hotel parking when you have booked to stay. Room was okay but little space to get ready. Tables too small for hairdryer etc and there is a lot of stuff (leaflets, trays etc) so its hard to navigate getting ready. Room wasn't dirty but it wasn't really clean.

Lovely design, furniture and atmosphere. Honestly beautiful and would come again. Even a help your self sweet cupboard honestly felt like I was in Hogwarts
Good location and nice decor, comfortable bed. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
The bathroom had not been properly cleaned, I had to clean the loo seat before using it. There was also a plastic wrapper from a previous occupant in the bed. There was no hot water in the morning for a shower, it was chilly! The staff were disinterested although not unfriendly.
Summertown is a great base, easy to get into Oxford centre (10 mins on bus), or great as somewhere to eat and hang out in its own right. Good to find somewhere with parking. Quirky fun decor. Clean snd readonable sized room. Staff friendly and helpful.
Double bed was in fact two singles pushed together and with an uncomfortable trench down the middle. Shower was rather feeble. Coffee tray had to be awkwardly placed on floor to get it near enough to a plug.
