The first two floors were cute, giving a traditional feel. Our room was spacious and bed, although very small for twins (same at other UK hotels) were comfortable.
Our room was on the third floor. The moment you arrive on the floor, it felt very different, warm and stuffy - not way to air the entire floor. The room was extremely hot, even with the 2 windows open and the fan running all the time. The shades were not secured so at night, the slightest breeze made them noisy (hitting the window frame). The glass door to the bathroom was also odd
Hotel looked nice inside
The first room they offered on the ground floor was facing the main road and you could hear the traffic. They moved us to a room on the ground on the back. There was no longer traffic noise but there were slat shutters and a glass door for the ensuite and the ensuite window was glass with no curtains so both the bedroom and the ensuite had bright light shining through at 5am. I told 2 members of staff each day who both said they would tell the manager and nothing was done. I woke up both mornings due to the light at 5am and couldn't sleep after this. I emailed the hotel twice on my return and there was no response. The last phone call I made Matteus at reception said he was sorry and would definitely write to the manager but I didn't hear anything form the hotel again. Terrible customer service.
Bardzo miła i pomocna obsługa.
Brak klimatyzacji.
雰囲気と朝食
マットレスが古いせいか沈み込みが大きく、寝心地が悪かった。
The decor is beautiful, really unique. the entrance is grand and feels very special. We loved the pick and mix station, a really really thoughtful touch. We stayed during the heatwave and while it was VERY hot within the room (something we will all have to get used to!), the staff immediately asked if we wanted a fan and found a very good quality one that helped! Staff very very nice/kind in general. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that!
The room and some surroundings felt very tired. Loads of carpet stains in the hall and our room was very dusty, the table hadn't been wiped and the door to the bathroom (frosted glass) was quite dirty, covered in greasy hand prints and water splashes (unfortunately the down side of frosted glass in general) the shower had no door (but clearly did at some point, but must have been removed). I just think it needed a refresh and a proper dust. I was just a little disappointed for a 4* hotel.
Good vibes, quiet place.
The room was over all clean, but hinges on the door to the bathroom was filthy/dusty (old dirt). The same with the frame inside the window in the bathroom. I think it was someone else's hair on the bathroom floor when we came, that could have been swished loose when we used the bathroom. A little surprised they did not hoover the room at least once during our stay (5 nights). One day we did not get the towel for the floor in the bathroom, and the day before we left they took our last toilet paper roll instead of giving us two new ones as usual.
Adjusting the temperature in the shower was hard. Going from cold to really hot in two millimetres on the knob was a bit extreme.
The breakfast was expensive when considering what you actually get. And the table in the dining room was sticky.
One morning the fire alarm went off, and when we went down to get out we tried to ask if there was a false alarm or something else since just one other guest seemed to react. We were "met" by an employee that went around and checked something regarding the alarm, he did not answer us well but it was better that he checked the system I guess. Some information about this would have been good.
Also, the chance of meeting staff at the desk was a 50/50 chance when going out in the morning/coming in at night. But it was always a note on the desk telling which room to call if needed.
The Galaxie is a nice boutique hangout. Breakfast was normal - good. Bed was good. Super helpful staff. Had a great rate for my stay.
Room could have been a bit bigger. Parts of the place will need refurbishing soon to keep a quality feel. This is a bit away from centre but buses are frequent.
Lovely, quirky hotel as was our room. Excellent breakfast, lovely staff.
Nothing.
Lovely location . Nice modern bathrooms . Bedrooms felt v private so couldn’t hear other guests . Pleasant breakfast . Attractive urban garden .
Shared living spaces could have been cleaner - stairs looked a bit grimy.
Attractive facilities and room. Nice shower. Lots of restaurants and cafes. Close to bus stop
Breakfast was not included and no option for ala cart orders
Clean, good design
Didn’t replace used glasses, no water being replenished, gave us dirty towels and didn't clean the bathroom till asked

Boutique style of hotel, decent location
Small room but not unusual in Oxford, can’t control heat, not the best service
