This was our second stay at this quirky boutique hotel. It is in a great location, with views of the harbour and abbey from the front bedrooms. Only 5 minutes walk from the pubs, restaurants and shops.
Parking can be challenging at busier times, but we found a spot after a few minutes. We will definitely be back.
Just back from a magical stay at La Rosa hotel. What an absolute treat it was. We hadn't stayed here for 9 years and I was so happy that it hadn't changed at all. It's still a fairytale, quirky, magical, place filled with a wonderful atmosphere and packed with fascinating curiosities. We stayed in The Little Red (Riding Hood) Room, which was enchanting. It may be small but it has a very comfortable 4 poster bed and a lovely hot shower with big fluffy white towels. You can have your continental breakfast in your room or in the tea rooms downstairs with stunning views of Whitby Abbey from the windows. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and so fresh using finest quality products. The cocktail bar is amazing, as are the cocktails and the eclectic music. The owners and staff are so lovely and friendly and looked after us so well. We can't wait to return. Many thanks to Rob, Helen, Ilona and Brodie. You are all stars. Our stay was also hugely enhanced by John, Margo and Madame La Rosa. My husband and myself loved every single minute of our stay.
What an amazing place. Really cute and quaint. The owners have spent a lot of time making the hotel very homely and different.
Very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
We stayed in caravan room. Which was quite small but adequate. Spotlessly clean.
Continental breakfast is included but we didn’t have it as we went out early. But it looked lovely.
Had a very pleasant 2 night stay
Absolutely loved the style and charm of the room and the public areas. The owners were super friendly and helpful throughout. The in room breakfast was lovely too.
Everything about this hotel is great, the room we stopped in was set out like Lewis Carols drawing room, with lots of little features. The bed was big and so comfortable. The view out the windows over to Whitby Abbey and the sea are fantastic and the staff are so helpful and friendley
Nothing not to like we found our perfect getaway place.
I love this place because it's so unusual and quirky. I love how many things there are to look at and lots of surprises everywhere. You don't know what you'll see next. This was our second visit here. We enjoyed staying in the room, Lewis. It was very comfortable and had the most amazing view of Whitby. The place isn't perhaps the cleanest, but I still love it! And it's such a friendly place, too.
Beautiful room with views directly of the Abbey, great friendly owners and good price
The magic atmosphere, the kindness of the owners, and the incredible view
We had the fantastic “saloon” bedroom with a huge copper bath but my husband said a shower head for rinsing would not be refused
We loved our stay here, it was recommended by a friend and I am so glad we listened to her!
This hotel was fantastic, the atmosphere was great with great decoration and use of curiosities. The Location was perfect with views across to the abbey, the Spar around the corner and if you are considering for wgw events everything was close by. The room was very pleasant, clean and everything required, with Yorkshire tea and local real coffee bags supplied and fresh milk. The staff were friendly and happy to have a chat. There was also a lovely tea room serving cakes and tea and coffee, all in proper china tea cups and pots. We didn't get to try the cocktail library, but that looked great too, just didn't have time. I would definitely recommend, and would definitely stay again if I visit Whitby overnight. Thanks to all staff at La Rosa for a great weekend!
Quirky
Was a bit noisy and creaky between rooms
