Boutique Hotel del Corso

Water wasn’t coming out of the bath the next morning and we were told that it was because different people were having their showers at the same time !

Didn’t bother us but be warned since this hotel is in the center of the city, it is loud at night with people out clubbing etc pretty much every night of the week. Closing the window doesn’t do much, if you’re like us and exhausted at the end of each day it won’t bother you too much!

Un peu bruyant

We stayed at Boutique Hotel del Corso recently and had a very serious and distressing experience that other travellers should be aware of.

During our stay, our child developed noticeable rashes while sleeping on the bed. Initially, we assumed these were mosquito bites. However, we did not see a single mosquito in the room. When we raised this with the staff, the concern was dismissed and we were told this is common in Tuscany. This explanation did not make sense, especially as the outside temperature was around 2°C at night, when mosquito activity is highly unlikely.

We completed our stay as planned, but over the course of the day, our child’s condition worsened significantly. The rashes became severe, with swelling to the point where our child was unable to walk. We had to arrange a wheelchair to manage travel back home, as we were flying the same day.

After returning, we informed both the hotel and Booking.com. Based on further research, we suspected bed bugs. The hotel initially responded, stating that they had conducted an inspection and found nothing, and that they would arrange a professional check. They also advised us to seek medical attention.

We visited a GP, who confirmed that these were not mosquito bites and that the symptoms were consistent with bed bug exposure. This was extremely alarming.

We shared this medical update with both the hotel and Booking.com. Booking.com informed us that they have been unable to reach the hotel despite multiple attempts and have raised a formal complaint.

From our side as well, after initial responses, the hotel stopped responding completely.

This is not just about discomfort — this involved a clear health issue affecting a child, which was not handled with the seriousness or responsibility expected.

Based on this experience, we cannot recommend this property. The lack of accountability, poor handling of a serious concern, and complete breakdown in communication are deeply concerning. We strongly to not consider

When we woke up on our final day we found that if you aren’t up early to shower (by 8:00am) you won’t get any water. The toilet won’t fill, the sink is a trickle and the shower is a drip. Huge negative that needs to be improved. If you’re an early bird however you should be just fine.

The elevator is from level 1 which means you need to carry all your luggage from ground floor through a whole lot of stairs which isn’t convenient if you are travelling with big suitcases. Also, as we were facing the road, there was lot of noise until late and the window isn’t sound proof.
