I called the resort to make sure the unit I was booking was wheelchair friendly. On arrival, we were booked into a unit with 6 steps... Not wheelchair friendly. Then the staff told us that we made the booking and that they did advise us thereof? Why would we book wheelchair friendly accommodation with steps? The Resort then moved us to another unit, where the door does not even lock, no kettle and unfriendly staff! Not on Olifants River Lodge! We travelled very far to be at your resort, and this is the way guests are treated.
The resort is beautiful and very scenic.
The Administrative staff is rude, uninformed, very temperamental and not helpful at all! My bookings were done poorly, our unit was cleaned, however, the dust was lying on the bedside tables, The bedroom light does not work, the bedside table lights do not make contact, therefore works, and then not, the top bathroom lights is not working, it goes on and then starts flickering, then just goes off. You need to pay a R300 breakage deposit, but when you book into the unit, there is already some of the glasses missing from the cabinet. When reporting this, they just say that they will make a note, however, don't think they will. The breakfast staff and catering staff is friendly and the breakfast was nice.

Two single beds joined to make a queen bed was not conducive. The blankets were fir single bed as well.
Maybe the mattress is old or they should just make double bed provisions.
7 km of gravell was also not comforting

I was assigned and wendywood house that I did not book. When I raised the matter and sent my compaint with Bookings.Com, I was offered another room from Tuesday 28 April 2026 to 01 May 2026. I was told that I either go back to the Wendywood house and I opted to check out on 01 May 2026. I will never visit this place again and would not recommend it to anyone.
My experience was absolutely terrible. I was placed in Wendy Wood House, which I never booked, and when I complained to Bookings.com, they barely tried to fix things. They just moved me to another room from Tuesday, 28 April 2026, to 01 May 2026 and had to pay extra for that but then forced me back to Wendy Wood House on 01 May because they were fully booked. I decided to leave on 01 May 2026 instead—this place is so disappointing that I will never return, and I strongly advise everyone to avoid it. The restaurant menu was a joke, with most items unavailable. Without a doubt, this was the worst and most distressing holiday I have ever had.
