Close to the airport.
The staff discouraged us from using the hotel shuttle. Why does the hotel offer a shuttle service to the airport but discourage the guest not to use the shuttle? We were encouraged by the same staff member to take an Uber or Taxi. The Uber cost us $50 plus to take us just over 2 miles. Being able to use a hotel shuttle to the airport is one of the important reasons that we choose that specific hotel.

The room itself was quite clean. They provided everything you might need for your stay, except perhaps a hairdryer. The breakfast was incredibly good value at 14.99 GBP. It was very easy to get to our terminal.
We paid for a three-hour late checkout. This was an additional 10 GBP PER HOUR (30 GBP in total). During that period, housekeeping entered our room TWICE, unannounced, while we were inside. I'm not going to elaborate, but this was a violation of our privacy in a room we had paid to occupy. It happened not once but TWICE in a span of THREE hours.
When we raised it at checkout, reception apologised and said they would "investigate", but could not tell us what that meant, what the outcome might be, or what — if anything — would be offered in response. It also emerged during that conversation that reception believed the intrusion had happened only once. Housekeeping had not reported the second entry at all.
I deserve an answer as to why this happened, and why this happened TWICE. A hotel that sells late checkout has a duty to make sure its own staff know which rooms are still occupied, and to have something better than a shrug to offer when that fails. I would not stay here again. I would think carefully before paying this hotel for a late checkout.
My usual hotel when i stay at Heathrow airport (several times a year), the Sofitel, cost shot up to $700 per night…. Last time i stayed there in July 2026!it was $230.
So that seemed outrageous, and they are going to price themselves out of business.
However, it allowed me to find the Holiday Inn, great restaurants, facilities, and helpful and courteous staff.
