I’ve given a five star for the overall experience. Their hospitality was so good. I’ve heard about the hospitality of Madurai through friends but only when I was touring there I was able to experience that hospitality. A vacation after a very hectic work routine definitely needed such loving people surrounded environment.

This hotel claims to be a 3 star hotel. It is not even a 1 star hotel. Dirty rooms with wall paint peeling off. The taps are dirty, bathroom doors are sticky. The bed linens are not ironed and look shabby. The rooms are not cleaned everyday till you tell them to. And they proudly claim that they wait for the guests to tell them to clean. I don't know what they are charging so much for. Definitely not worth paying so much. There are much better hotels in Madurai, don't go by the online listing and rating of this one.

I booked two double-bed rooms at President Hotel, Madurai through an online platform for a total cost of ₹7,000 (2x3500)and paid an advance of ₹5,000. However, one day before check-in that is 31st Jan 2025,the hotel called me and informed me that due to maintenance issues, they were unable to provide the rooms. Since 02nd Feb 2025 was a busy muhurtham (auspicious) day, I requested them to at least arrange one room for us. After multiple phone conversations, they finally agreed to provide a deluxe room at a charge of ₹5,000 (1x5000)per night.

The next day, I checked in that’s 01st Feb 2025.The check-in process was smooth, but the hotel’s location was in a busy and congested market area. Upon entering the room, I was shocked by its small size—just 10x14 feet, including the washroom. The room had only a queen-size cot, leaving no space for an extra bed. I asked the room boy whether it was a standard or deluxe room, and he confirmed that it was a deluxe room. However, it was not worth ₹5,000 at all.

Additionally, the closet and room door locks were very old and troublesome to use.

Due to my disappointment with the room, I went out for my function, and after returning just four hours later, I decided to check out. I then booked a better hotel nearby and stayed there instead.

Absolutely disgusting place. They have zero sense of cleanliness and they try masking the stench of the rooms with excess room freshner. They try convincing you that they'll upgrade but they shift from a noisy room to one with pest control going on right beside it. Absolutely no standard for a hotel.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Right from the start, things were off. The room I was given did not have shampoo or shower gel, which was quite inconvenient. To make matters worse, the jet spray in the bathroom was already broken into two pieces. Since I had to leave for the temple early, I didn’t have the time to report these issues immediately.

When I returned late at night, I decided to deal with it the next morning. However, during check-out, the hotel staff accused me of breaking the jet spray. They kept me waiting at the reception for 20-30 minutes, treating me like I had committed some crime. Initially, they even wanted me to pay for it!

Despite my logical explanation that the spray was already broken and that I didn’t have the opportunity to report it earlier, they insisted on interrogating me. It was only after wasting my time and making me feel humiliated that they decided not to charge me. However, they made a bizarre comment asking me to "compensate" for this incident in their hotel rating. I made it clear that I would not compromise on an honest review.

This entire ordeal felt like a setup, as if they were well aware of the broken spray but used it as an excuse to extort money or intimidate guests. It’s shocking to think they might be running this scam regularly.

The hotel’s high ratings are misleading and do not reflect the reality of their service. I booked this place based on those ratings, but I would never recommend it to anyone. This experience was nothing short of pathetic, and I hope others avoid going through such harassment.

Very good staying experience with president hotel 🙏🏻🤗🫡 selva and reception staff karishma is help us very much and explain clearly. Meenakshi mandir is very near and walkable distance good stay and nice .Car parking is good and comfortable. rooms good and clean.

Room was good. Good response in front office expecially karishma and sabari driver selva.Meenakshi amman temple is very near and walkable distance.food is good.room was clean and good .in room healthy snacks are available good stay and wonderful

Rooms had frequent power cuts during night.
No power in entire room , dirty rooms , smelly, door malfunctioning could not enter room for around 30 mins worst stay experience ever.
Never stay in this hotel it’s not 3 star it’s worst ever hotel.
Located in a dirty location and hotel is also very very dirty not value for money given

I reached in very rush and was in tension to getting rooms in new year but we got Very nice hotel President I will recommend to stay there and Vignesh Manager and muttu of hotel treated well..

Had an amazing experience staying in hotel president. Room was clean and excellentwith great location. Meenakshi temple and market is also nearby hotel. Since we were having flight back in evening, they also extended our checkout time by 2 hours.

I will recommend to stay here.

Very good service specially balaji.very near to Meenakshi Amman temple and very kind of peoples and good service front office guys are shanmugavalli,snega, Dinesh all are very sweet and very helpful person etc.......................

Worst room service waste of money and when entering in to the room the smell was very bad and after informing so many times they not even responding for that and they are mainly keying in to get the amount not for the customer service it's totally waste AC water is leaking on the floor and because of this my electric gadgets are got damaged regards for this I asked with management they are not responding for this for courtesy also

I have stay in the hotel president the hotel was good and fine comfortable to stay it was good for family purpose and people in the hotel was humble and polite and front office has guides as in good. The food was very tasty. Room was neat and clean

we stayed for 2 nights. had comfortable stay , we are not fussy. Complementary breakfast was not bad in the budget price. Room was of good size , wifi was available all the time. location wise , it is little away from the Minakshi temple. you can find other option near the temple with little more tariff . Overall, I had no complaint. Thanks to worli and Balaji for their support. Other staffs were also polite and helpful.

Very unpleasant stay. The hotel is located adjacent to a very narrow & busy road. The rooms are dingy, unclean, foul smelling, lots of mosquitos, switches not working, dirty linen, dirty, unhygienic & pungent smelling bathroom with water stagnation, dirty & old towels. The list is endless. Though the breakfast is complementary, but they give only limited vegetarian dishes, even a masala dosa was refused. The hotel charges premium rates for stay but the services are not even at par with any budget hotel. Even the manager was unavailable to discuss the issue. Very substandard hotel. Please think twice before booking into this hotel.

Very good and hygiene hotel. Near to almost all good places. Shanmugavalli and Sneha has been very kind and well behaved. Very convenient to get auto and very near to temple. Recommend for the family stay. Not to forget to mention the very good restaurant at the top.
